96 Mouton, 86 Cheval, 90 Lynch bages and 89 Domenico Clerico
1990 Château Lynch Bages:
Served blind. Dark ruby. Intense, cassis, leather, scented, slight violets note, quite flirting. Finally superb nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded but textured, youthful, long and quite detailed finish. I'm guessing 89 Lynch Bages. 95
1989 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra:
Served blind. Dark ruby, thin garnet rim, lots of sediments. Liquourice, cassis, prunes and figs. Freshish acidity, ripe tannins, tight and tannic palate. Bit dry, edgy finish, alcohol. Big and rich. 89
1996 Château Mouton Rothschild:
Served blind. Deep ruby. Cassis, some plums, rich and ripe nose, leather, nuanced, refined, exotic, detailed and nuanced, superb nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded, fruity, tight, refined but too young, amazing details yet again, a few years since ladt bottle, give it another ten plus years, very long. I nailed the producer, missed vintage by four years. 96
1986 Château Cheval Blanc:
Served blind. Ruby, very thin brick rim. Dark berries, detailed, exotic, floral, nuanced, refined, blueberries, plums, vanilla and mint touch, touch of bell peppers. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, lovely balance, refreshing, lively and fruity, again detailed, very long. I guessed 95 Cheval Blanc. 96
