Tired 82 Calon Ségur and fresh Manuel Olivier Morey

1982 Château Calon Ségur
Served blind. Ruby, garnet rim. Dark chocolate, earthy, lacks fruit on the nose. Drying palate, dusty and coffee. I guessed tired Bordeaux. With answer in hand a far cry from optimal bottle.

2011 Manuel Olivier Morey-Saint-Denis
Bright ruby. Lightly scented, red berries and some floral notes. Not too intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh if somewhat leaner, fairly elegant if a bit rustic finish. 88
