2007 Château Smith Haut Lafitte:
Ruby. Starting out ever so
slightly herbal, typical of the vintage and a bit lean. With a few hours
in decanter, very elegant cassis, tobacco, minerals and a slightly
spicy and scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant fruit and
balance, fruity, quite refreshing, long finish. 91
1999 Château Haut-Bages Libéral:
Ruby.
Starting cedar, cassis, some leather, fairly detailed and classic
Pauillac with just starting maturity. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins,
fresh, fruity, ever so slightly sour touch just to make it more easy to
enjoy, fairly rounded, vanilla flavour but not oaky with a few hours of
air. Long, but when it goes, it goes quickly. can easily be kapt
another five to ten years. 90
