2000 Château La Violette:
Ruby with thin brick rim. Plums, blueberries, figs, leather and slightly scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity if leaner, some drier notes, lacks a bit of fruit to go round, still quite enjoyable. 87

2008 Château Certan de May:
Deep ruby. Exotic, blueberries, scented, dark berries, vanilla, flirting for it's young age, lovely nose. 08 is underrated in Pomerol. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh and lively, the barrels are a bit showy now and it needs five years, long. 93

2009 Wegeler Bernkasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals, ripe for Mosel nose, slightly floral, delicate nose. Fresh acidity, fresh, lively, fruity, rounded and playful, refreshing, maybe not the most refined but lovely, long. 91
