After several hours open it turned more Burgundian with sous bois, oxidized strawberries and forest berries. 90

Ruby, thin garnet rim. One of if not the driest vintage on record in Douro. Only 9 mm of rain at Quinta da Leda during the entire year. Blackberries, dark fruits, nuanced, layered, intense and long. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, red berries, anise, soiuces, liquorice, nuanced, juicy, somewhat bolder for Vinha Grande, long. 89

2015 Casa Ferreirinha Barca Velha

Ruby. Blackberries, dark fruits, intense, richer nose, layered, nuanced and complex, minerals beneath. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, liquorice, fruit forward, detailed, intense, layered, nuanced, long. Minerals beneath on the palate as well. With several hours of air (double decanted upon opening) it showed layers of fresh dark fruits and the aftertaste just kept getting longer and longer. 97
