09 Clos de Lambrays, 04 Ch.Canon, 07 Les Plantiers de Haut-Brion and more

2011 Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Kabinett Rotlack:
Pale lemon yellow. Lemons, apples, minerals, some grapefruit. Fresh and feels too young now, even with excessive breathing. Fresh acidity, elegant texture, long. Give it five years. 89

2007 Les Plantiers de Haut-Brion:
(2nd Ch. Haut-Brion blanc) If I remember correctly, the last vintage before the name is changed. Pale lemon yellow. Lemons, grapefruit, vanilla, minerals, subdued and elegant nose. Fresh acidity, lively and elegant palate, towards creamy texture, refreshing and long. 91

2007 Château La Croix de Gay:
Deep ruby. Blueberries, vanilla, a bit hollow nose between fruit and deeper coffe notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fairly refreshing, oak is biting, other than that quite nice. Not the purest 07 Pomerol. 87

2008 Connétable de Talbot:
(2nd Ch. Talbot) Ruby. Elegant nose, floral, cassis, almost scented, some spices and herbs. Pure feel. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant palate and structure, refreshing and long finish. 88

2008 Château Talbot:
Ruby. More elegant and layered nose, complex, more refined than it's little brother. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb palate, refreshing and playful, needs time to open, a lovely 08. 92

2004 Château Canon:
Deep ruby. Blueberries, exotic spices, layered and complex, but not too intense. Vanilla, black tea and scented. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, needs time, lovely body and texture but a bit closed. Give it ten years. 93

2009 Domaine des Lambrays Clos de Lambrays:
Bright ruby. Spicy and almost exotic Pinot nose, and it actually gives me a flashback to the 1945 vintage right away with it's slightly rich and opulent style. Pure and did not need too long to show. Almost peppery, some plums and almost thick of strawberries. Rich yes, but never cooked or warm feel. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruit driven, quite lively and intense. Not as long or refined as some, at least not at this stage, but might be something awesome for the cellar. 93 for now.
