1966 Château Lafon-Rochet:
Top shoulder fill. Ruby, broad orange rim. Cigars, earthy, forest floor, mature nose, verging on tired. Fresh acidity, lean and skinny, drying. 72
1966 Château Léoville Barton:
High shoulder fill. Ruby, orange rim. Scented, cogars, anise, leather and some cassis nose, figs and wood polish, gentleman's wardrobe. Fresh acidity, ripe and few tannins, leaner palate, refreshing, ads on the nose with air, long. 90
1986 Château La Mission Haut-Brion:
Ruby. Intense, floral, minerals, cassis, pure feel to it, tobacco, scented, layers and layers on the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, intense but leaner than the nose, elegant may be stretching it, but balanced and fresh. Ads and ads, complex as few. Long. 95
1986 Château Haut-Brion:
Ruby. Tight first, not giving that much on either nose or palate, but very long finish with some fruit that is difficult to describe. Floral, cassis, leaner minerals, still a bit tight nose after half an hour in decanter. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, one of the more tannic 86 Haut-Brion bottles I've had, leaner, slightly tomato plant, not optimal bottle. Long finish. 92
2008 Coche-Dury Meursault:
Pale golden. Apples, minerals, some yellow fruits, butter, slightly floral and flinty nose. Fresh acidity, elegant and creamy texture, playful, lively, nuanced, cooler palate than nose, bit tight, slightly bitter, long and bit edgy, needs a few years still, concentrated, lime and chalky finish, long. 92
1988 Château Mouton Rothschild:
Ruby, garnet rim. Bit tight as usual, some exotic spices, cassis, leather, more subdued than last bottle. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner palate, cassis, slightly herbal, tight even with air, long, if lean finish. 91
1983 Château Trotanoy:
Ruby, thin orange rim. Tight, scented, some blackberries and black tea, nuanced, floral and sublime elegance, gorgeous nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, bit tight, lovely balance, nuanced and fresh, youthful, subdued yet intense, amazing length, waves upon waves, gorgepus and long. Served blind, and I, miraculously, nailed vintage and producer. Even if tighter than last bottle. 97
1985 Château La Mission Haut-Brion:
Ruby, thin brick rim. Floral, scented, elegant, nuanced and layered nose, maturing, cassis, beautiful nose. Flirting nose, gorgeous. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing, gorgeous and nuanced, creamy texture, playful and elegant, absolutely gorgeous. Served blind, took the vintage and managed the estate with a bit of help. Perfect balance. Gorgeous. 96
1990 Château Montrose:
Ruby, garnet rim. Tight, slightly herbal, scented, nuanced, intense, refreshing, stunning, floral notes, gorgeous nose, nuanced and layered. Layers upon layers. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant, nuanced and refreshing, intense, refreshing, mouthwatering, amazing, ads and ads and everything is so fresh. Served blind and I was on '90 Montrose on the nose, and so it was. Perfect, my best bottle so far, stunning. 100
2004 Keller Westhofener Morstein Riesling Auslese***
Golden. Apricots, pineapples, fresh nose if not that complex. Panacotta nose. Fresh acidity, playful and lively, panacotta with strawberries and raspberries, intense, but could be more complex, intense and almost powerfull, long. 92
1995 Monsanto Vinsanto La Chimera:
Cloudy orange-brown with golden rim. Oxidized and raisins nose, alcohol big time. I hope this is an off bottle, pure spirits and oxidized palate and nose. A Madeira is far more balanced. Awfull.
2010 Dr. Burklin-Wolf Ruppertsberger Riesling Auslese:
Pale golden. Apples, cinamon, slightly curry note, rich but complex nose. Richer than last bottle. Fresh acidity, lively and elegant, nuanced and refreshing, playful, superb, refreshing and mouthwatering, lacks a bit of balance if I'm pushing it, long. 94
