Clement Perseval Blanc de Noir Premier Cru Zero Dosage
4080 bottles made. Degorged 30.07.12. Pale lemon yellow, tiny bubbles. Apples, minerals, some yeast, quite delicate nose, ever so slightly yellow fruity, some yeast. Fresh acidity, elegant mousse, quite detailed, slightly sweet fruity, but just to balance it, good length. 88
2010 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Aligoté
Pale lemon yellow. Some lemons, apples, minerals, very elegant and subdued nose, ever so slightly nutty far behind and almond flowers. Fresh acidity, leaner palate, refreshing and elegant, very easy to enjoy, citrusy, minerals, almost chalky, detailed and very delicate, refined. Not the longest. Lovely Aligoté. 88
2008 Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino Annata:
Bright ruby. Red berries, more tender nose than last bottle, some floral notes, almonds very delicate. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner and more detailed but also some drier notes, not a perfect bottle. Drying finish. 85

2010 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc
Pale lemon yellow. Some apples, citrus, minerals, subdued nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, bit tight, minerals, refreshing, lovely BB. 88
1983 Château Lafite Rothschild
Bottom neck fill. Ruby, thin garnet rim. Cedar, tobacco, leather, cassis, minerals, very elegant and nuanced, floral, mint touch, gorgeous nose, needs a bit of time to open. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, little bit acidic maybe but gets fruitier with air, detailed again, elegant, very long indeed. 95
1990 Camille Giroud Vosne-Romanée
Ruby with broad brick rim, orange hue. Scented, comes up of the glass, dark berries, sous bois, coffee and burnt notes, seems a bit toasted from oak on the nose. Fresh and high acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, bit grippy texture, slightly hollow mid palate, long but ever so slightly drying. Maybe not the most typical Vosne, but impressive non the less. 91
2006 Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras
Bright ruby. Red berries and a slight herbal note that blew off after half an hour, youthful nose and lacked the ripeness of the last bottle and the floral notes of a bottle before that one again. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity and lively, bit lean and again lacked the fuller and more complete feel of the last two bottles. Fairly long. 91

Straw yellow. Starting out with honey, nuts and butter, with more air all kinds of citrus and some orange flowers as well, superb minerality, detailed. Fresh acidity, creamy texture, bit rich and nutty, intense, layered, slight caramelized apples note, some bitter notes, orange peel, smoky minerals, ever so sligjtly rough in the incredibly long finish, minutes. 97 *****

90 Montrose, 85 and 86 LMHB, 86 HB, 88 Mouton, 83 Trotanoy, Coche-Dury and more
1966 Château Lafon-Rochet:
Top shoulder fill. Ruby, broad orange rim. Cigars, earthy, forest floor, mature nose, verging on tired. Fresh acidity, lean and skinny, drying. 72
1966 Château Léoville Barton:
High shoulder fill. Ruby, orange rim. Scented, cogars, anise, leather and some cassis nose, figs and wood polish, gentleman's wardrobe. Fresh acidity, ripe and few tannins, leaner palate, refreshing, ads on the nose with air, long. 90
1986 Château La Mission Haut-Brion:
Ruby. Intense, floral, minerals, cassis, pure feel to it, tobacco, scented, layers and layers on the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, intense but leaner than the nose, elegant may be stretching it, but balanced and fresh. Ads and ads, complex as few. Long. 95
1986 Château Haut-Brion:
Ruby. Tight first, not giving that much on either nose or palate, but very long finish with some fruit that is difficult to describe. Floral, cassis, leaner minerals, still a bit tight nose after half an hour in decanter. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, one of the more tannic 86 Haut-Brion bottles I've had, leaner, slightly tomato plant, not optimal bottle. Long finish. 92
2008 Coche-Dury Meursault:
Pale golden. Apples, minerals, some yellow fruits, butter, slightly floral and flinty nose. Fresh acidity, elegant and creamy texture, playful, lively, nuanced, cooler palate than nose, bit tight, slightly bitter, long and bit edgy, needs a few years still, concentrated, lime and chalky finish, long. 92
1988 Château Mouton Rothschild:
Ruby, garnet rim. Bit tight as usual, some exotic spices, cassis, leather, more subdued than last bottle. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner palate, cassis, slightly herbal, tight even with air, long, if lean finish. 91
1983 Château Trotanoy:
Ruby, thin orange rim. Tight, scented, some blackberries and black tea, nuanced, floral and sublime elegance, gorgeous nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, bit tight, lovely balance, nuanced and fresh, youthful, subdued yet intense, amazing length, waves upon waves, gorgepus and long. Served blind, and I, miraculously, nailed vintage and producer. Even if tighter than last bottle. 97
1985 Château La Mission Haut-Brion:
Ruby, thin brick rim. Floral, scented, elegant, nuanced and layered nose, maturing, cassis, beautiful nose. Flirting nose, gorgeous. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing, gorgeous and nuanced, creamy texture, playful and elegant, absolutely gorgeous. Served blind, took the vintage and managed the estate with a bit of help. Perfect balance. Gorgeous. 96
1990 Château Montrose:
Ruby, garnet rim. Tight, slightly herbal, scented, nuanced, intense, refreshing, stunning, floral notes, gorgeous nose, nuanced and layered. Layers upon layers. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant, nuanced and refreshing, intense, refreshing, mouthwatering, amazing, ads and ads and everything is so fresh. Served blind and I was on '90 Montrose on the nose, and so it was. Perfect, my best bottle so far, stunning. 100
2004 Keller Westhofener Morstein Riesling Auslese***
Golden. Apricots, pineapples, fresh nose if not that complex. Panacotta nose. Fresh acidity, playful and lively, panacotta with strawberries and raspberries, intense, but could be more complex, intense and almost powerfull, long. 92
1995 Monsanto Vinsanto La Chimera:
Cloudy orange-brown with golden rim. Oxidized and raisins nose, alcohol big time. I hope this is an off bottle, pure spirits and oxidized palate and nose. A Madeira is far more balanced. Awfull.
2010 Dr. Burklin-Wolf Ruppertsberger Riesling Auslese:
Pale golden. Apples, cinamon, slightly curry note, rich but complex nose. Richer than last bottle. Fresh acidity, lively and elegant, nuanced and refreshing, playful, superb, refreshing and mouthwatering, lacks a bit of balance if I'm pushing it, long. 94

76 Latour, 90 de Fargues, 89 Cos, 02 Rousseau, 08 Coche and more
Deg 02 June 2010. Pale golden, tiny bubbles. Intense nose,
apples, yeasty, minerals, heavy for BdB, dark fruit and coffee touch.
Fresh acidity, rich but elegant mousse, wax and yellow plums. Creamy. 91
1976 Château La Lagune:
Ruby,
brick rim. Coffee and somewhat dusty. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins,
fresher palate, a bit short and astringent, bit still a lovely Claret.
But in this company, most wines struggle. 86
1976 Château Latour:
Ruby,
brick rim. Very tight. Cassis, leather giver little on the nose. Palate
is fresh, almost lively acidity, ripe but highish tannins. Nuanced and a
rich 76, a almost astringent acidity backbone that carries the flavours
a long way. 93
1989 Château Cos d'Estournel:
Ruby,
thin garnet rim. Scented nose. Spicy, cassis, tight and still open,
exotic and Christmas spices. Up front a bit. Fresh acidity, ripe
tannins, fruit driven still, even if it feels dry and oaky in the finish
still. Long but lean and oaky. 91
1993 J. Reynaud Pignan Châteauneuf du Pape:
Ruby, garnet rim. Sweet strawberries and a touch of licorice. Medicinal. Very
sweet nose. Fresh acidity, very ripe tannins, feels like lots of oak. Dry and oaky finish. Sweet. 79
2005 Shafer Hillside Select:
Deep
ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, even if slightly alcoholic and sweet.
Licorice, ripe morellos, touch of cassis. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins,
sweet and coffee with a touch of anise. Hollow and up front. 86
2003 Château Lafaurie Peyraguey:
Blind, nowhere close..... Golden
with amber hue. Pineapple, botrytis, vanilla, slightly burnt and
caramel. Fresh acidity, refreshing and almost yoghurtish acidity,
refreshing but lean. Some caramel and apricots. Good length. 89
1990 Château Rieussec:
Blind. I wasn't even in Sauternes.... Heavy golden
with orange hue. Up front nose of unripe apples and rose hips. Slightly
volatile and caramel. Fresh acidity, lazyish acidity, burnt caramel,
unpleasant finish. 88
1990 Château de Fargues:
Blind.
I was on 89 or 90 Fargues or Yquem, even if it was a bit leaner.
Golden, amber hue. Pineapples, apricots, vanilla, elegant fruit. Complex
and layered. Fresh acidity even if rich. Nuanced. Very long. 94
2002 Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche:
Bright
ruby. Slightly herbal, somewhat unripe strawberries. If lean and
fruity, it feels scented. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leanish fruit,
fragrant and slightly up front, but lacks complexity and refinement. Good length. 91
2002 Dominique Laurent Nuits-Saint-Georges 1 er Cru Les Chaignots:
Bright
ruby. Raspberries, some vanilla, ever so slightly vanilla and mint.
fresh acidity, ripe tannins, a bit lean and herbal, but also somewhat
fruity. Good length. 89
2008 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc:
Pale
golden. Very ripe lemons, apples, some popcorn. Fresh acidity, lively
and refreshing palate, not that complex but lovely. A charmer. 87

2004 Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne
2004 Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne;
Pale golden, butter, vanilla, flint, lime, lemon, touch of popcorn and smoke, intense, layered, gorgeous nose. More complex and nuanced, and somewhat less rich in comparison to the nose of Coche-Dury's Meursault's. Fresh acidity, lively, superb, mouthwatering, it's just so extremely good, so layered, so nuanced, intense yet transparent, extreme length, minutes. 99-100

00 Coche-Dury Meursault les Rougeots
2000 Coche-Dury Meursault les Rougeots;
Golden, popcorn, butter, rich, minerals, fresh acidity, ripe, rich, intense, creamy texture, long. This was not to everybodys taste around the table, but it should have been decanted. Getting somewhat leaner (if never very lean) and more focused with air (a few hours in the glass). 93-94

97 Coche
1997 Coche-Dury, Mersault;
Deep straw yellow, such minerality, flinty, stony, so concentrated with lemon and citrus, smokey, feels like a foggy and heavy, drissling morning, turning into bright sunlight. Fresh acidity, so pure, fragrant, even overtones of tropical fruits, and such a balance, like a dancer, tiptoeing, crisp, and what a length. 92

A dinner to remember

1993 Gerhard Schueller Riesling Pfersigberg Grand Cru;
Pale golden, petroleum, apples, pear, apricots, quite ripe fruits, very elegant, perfectly balanced acidity, long finish. Drinks well now, and will last quite a bit longer. 89
1996 Coche-Dury, Corton Charlemagne;
Lemon yellow, lovelly, a bit fat minerality, apples, chalk, unbelievable complexity and very subtle, still quite intence, layered. Fantastic balance, perfect harmony, light, transparent, fat and intence at the same time, amazing acidity, exceptional long finish. Truly amazing. 97
1983 Chateau Margaux;
Deep ruby with thin brick rim. Some floral notes and violets over paprika, cigars, cherries and some less acidic red fruits. Not as developed as most 83's, some leather and liquorice. Fantastic balance, elegant acidity, some vanilla and oak notes still, increadible finish. Fantastic now in it's state between young fruit and more developed aromas, will last another 20 years, probably more. 97
1989 Chateau La Tour Blanche;
Golden with amber hue. Honney, apricots, some apples, orange peal, tropic fruits and citrus, some vanilla, pure youth and increadibly fresh. Very elegant, fresh acidity, perfect balance, exceptional length, will last 20 years or more. Fantastic. 97

3 times Coche-Dury
2001 Bouchard Pere & Fils, Chevalier Montrachet;
Pale golden yellow, apples, lemon, minerals, some butter, hints of almonds, fresh acidity, balanced and very elegant, but could be more complex for this vineyard, good length. 88
2004 Coche-Dury Meursault;
Lemon yellow, intence yet elegant, minerals, flint, a bit smokey, some butter and nuts behind, lemon, apples, complex, intence, and transparent at the same time, great balance, great acidity, fresh and youthfull, long aftertaste, can keep. 90
2002 Coche-Dury Meursault Rougeot;
Lemon yellow, even a bit more intence, so complete, well balanced, layers of flavours, maybe a bit more fruity and apple than the one above, great complexity, long length. 91
2002 Coche-Dury Meursault Perrieres;
Lemon yellow, now even more of everything, but now the minerals plays a bigger role somehow, and it's a bit fatter on the body, maybe some more butter and nuts also, again this intence and transparent feel which is intoxicatingly elegant, just fantastic. 94
