1989 Château Lynch-Bages;
Ruby, garnet rim. Rich nose, intense, dark berries, cassis, cedar, sweet tobacco, morellos, plums, stone from fruits far behind. Vanilla and licorice stroke the fruit every now and then. Fine black tea. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb balance, hedonistic and elegant, needed ours in decanter to open, hours. Fresh, long and lingering finish, a bit oaky and still a bit edgy. This is still fairly young. I think my best bottle. Superb. 95
