Spesialbutikkslipp Oktober 2012, some older vintages Bordeaux





The wines below was tasted at Vinmonopolet prior to the release in the special shops next week.  The tasting notes below are of all wines tasted, in the order they were tasted.

1995 Château Rochemorin:

6501701 (204,50) Ruby, garnet rim. Leather, figs and anise, herbs and minerals. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, a bit lean body but classic. Excellent wine for the price. Slightly drying finish. 84

1998 Château Rochemorin:
6554901 (226,20) Deep ruby. Cassis, leather, vanilla, riper style with some minerals below. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, more elegant and smoky palate, good length. Great value. 86

2000 Château Poujeaux:
9709101 (564,90) Deep ruby. Cassis, leather and some vanilla and anise below. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, quite savory and refreshing. Cherry blueberry finish, good length. 88

1999 Château Haut-Brion:
6415401 (2106,60) Deep ruby. Elegant nose, really flirting, very youthful, with air Pessac minerals, cassis, leather and scented notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb texture and structure, savory and refreshing, very long and elegant finish. Superb. 94+

1996 Château Léoville Barton:
9883101 (1119,80) Deep ruby, hardly garnet rim. Cassis, some mints, cedar, a faint hint of figs. Scented. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, mouthwatering and lovely texture, even if the tannins actually will benefit from more ageing. 93
