2012 Château Baret:
Pale lemon yellow. Grapefruit and elegant, slightly mineraly nose. Freshish acidity, more lively finish, elegant, good length. 87-89

2012 Château Bouscaut:
Pale lemon yellow. Oaky, grapefruit and lime nose. Fresh acidity, richer style, not the most elegant Bouscaut Blanc made. 87-89

2012 Château Brown:
Pale lemon yellow. Fruity, grapefruit and melon nose. Fresh acidity, elegant and lively, refreshing if not too complex. 86-88

2012 Château Le Bruilleau:
Pale lemon yellow. Some grapefruit nose. Fairly fresh acidity, easy and a bit lazy even so. 83-85

2012 Château Cantelys:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, grapefruit and elegant nose. Fresh acidity, elegant fruit and texture, good length. 88-90

2012 Château Carbonnieux:
Pale lemon yellow. Lime, minerals and nuanced nose. Fresh acidity, refreshing and refined, elegant, lovely minerals, long. 91-93



2012 Domaine de Chevalier:
Pale lemon yellow. Nuanced, lime, minerlas, touch of grapefruits and tropical notes on the nose. Fresh acidity, elegant, superb texture, elegant and refined. Magnificent and very long. 94-96

2012 Château Couhins:
Pale lemon yellow. Grapefruit, lemon curd and minerals nose. Fresh acidity, lively, elegant and quite refreshing, refined and long. 92-94

2012 Château Couhins-Lurton:
Pale lemon yellow. Fruity, lemons, minerals and vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, lively, fruity, some oak disturbs as usual, refreshing. 88-90

2012 Château de Cruzeau:
Pale lemon yellow. Flinty, grapefruit and minerals nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, could be more nuanced, good length. 84-86

2012 Château Ferran:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, lemons and leaner fruity nose. Fresh acidoty, leaner palate, easy going. 84-86

2012 Château De Fieuzal:
Pale lemon yellow. Fruity, minerals, floral and elegant nose. Fresh acidity, lively and nuanced, elegant body and texture, quite long. 89-91

2012 Château de France:
Pale lemon yellow. Grapefruit, minerals and vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, lively and fairly fresh, finish on the rich side. 86-88



2012 Château La Garde:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples and  minerals nose. Fresh acidity, playful and elegant palate, quite nuanced, good length. 89-91

2012 Château Gazin-Rocquencourt:
Pale lemon yellow. Ripe apples nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, apples, rich but fresher finish, good length. 86-88

2012 Domaine de Grandmaison:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals and lime nose. Freshish acidity, elegant if a bit easygoing. 84-86

2012 Château Haut-Bergey:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals and grapefruit nose. Fresh acidity, elegant if a bit easy, good length. 85-87

2012 Château Haut-Brion Blanc:
Pale lemon yellow. Lime, floral, minerals, citrus-flowers and ripe lemons, complex nose. Fresh acidity, refreshing, a bit fuller body, nuanced, rounder, long. 94-96

2012 La Clarte de Haut-Brion:
(2nd Ch Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion) Pale lemon yellow. Lemons, grapefruit, minerals and a touch of vanilla on the nose. Fresh acidity, quite lively, very elegant, fairly nuanced, long. 89-90

2012 Château Haut-Lagrange:
Pale lemon yellow. Ripe and some minerals nose. Freshish acidity, ripe palate. 82-84

2012 Château Haut-Nouchet:
Pale lemon yellow. Easy going nose. Fresh acidity, elegant body, fruity, good length. 84-86

Pale lemon yellow. Easy going nose and palate, fairly refreshing. 83-85

Pale lemon yellow, oaky, minerals and grapefruit nose. Freshish acidity, oaky palate. 83-85

Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals and vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, fruity and elegant palate, good length. 87-89

2012 Château Lafont Menaut:
Pale lemon yellow. Fruity, lime, grapefruit and minerals nose. Fresh acidity, lively and elegant, creamy texture. 87-89

2012 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals and vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, fairly lively and almost creamy palate, quite long. 88-90

2012 Château Latour-Martillac:
Pale lemon yellow. Fruity, minerals and slightly tropical nose. Fresh acidity, elegant and playful palate even if quite rich. Still refined, nuanced and long. 91-93

2012 Château Lespault-Martillac:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, grapefruit, minerals and elegant nose. Fresh acidity, fruity palate and quite nuanced. Lively finish. 89-91

2012 Château Luchey-Halde:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples and minerals nose. Fresh acidity, lively but not very complex. 84-86

2012 Château Malartic- Lagraviere:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals and some grapefruit on the nose. Fresh acidity, elegant texture, fruity, long finish. 90-92

2012 Clos Marsalette:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, vanilla and tropical nose. Flabby acidity, boring. 81-83


2012 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc:
Pale lemon yellow. Lemons, grapefruit, mineraly and nuanced nose. Fresh acidity, elegant and refined palate, lovely fruit and balance, very elegant, lemony finish, long. 95-97

2012 Château Olivier:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals, grapefruit and lime nose. Fresh acidity, elegant texture, playful and refined, long. 91-93

2012 Château Pape Clement:
Pale lemon yellow. Rich, smoky and vanilla nose. Freshish acidity, lots of body, rich, lacks refinement. 86-88

2012 Château Picque Caillou:
Pale lemon yellow. Lime, lemons and vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, elegant body, soft texture, fairly nuanced, good length. 84-86

2012 Château Pontac Monplaisir:
Pale lemon yellow. Grapefruit and apples nose. Freshish acidity, easy and simple. 81-83

2012 Château Roche Lalande:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals and lime nose. Fresh acidity, ripe and tropical palate, a bit sweet. 84-86

2012 Château de Rochemorin:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, tropical and mineraly nose. Fresh acidity, easy going, refreshing, light on it's feet. 86-88

2012 Château de Rouillac:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples and a tropical tone on the nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, some minerals, good length. 85-87

2012 Château Smith Haut Lafitte:
Pale lemon yellow. Fruity and elegant nose, layered and complex. Fresh acidity, elegant and fruity, a bit tight now, long. 92-94

2012 Château Le Thil de Comte Clary:
Pale lemon yellow. Tropical, grapefruit and minerals on the nose. Fresh acidity, elegant and  refreshing, good length. 85-87

2012 Domaine de la Solitude:
Pale lemon yellow. Some vanilla, grapefruit and minerals on the nose. Fresh acidity, Elegant and fairly lively, good length. 87-89

  1. Thanks for this blog/these notes. Ch Olivier is consistently one of my favorites and great to see you rated the 2012 amongst the best. I think the whites of Pessac-Leognan are really special
