A friend turned 45 and we opened some wines!
1999 Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé
Deg mars 2006. Salmon with tiny bubbles. Brioche, some red berries, elegant minerals, subtle and detailed, layered. Fresh acidity, smooth mousse, refined and seemless, smooth texture, very elegant and very long. 95-96
1999 Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Monts Mains
Towards lemon yellow. Lemons, apples, some nuts, intense, white lilies nose, detailed and complex. Yellow plums. Fresh acidity, apples, lemons, nuts, creamy, rich and intense palate, slightly hollow mid palate to be picky, iron note in the finish. Very long finish. 94
2007 Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes
Ruby. Scented, red berries, delicate if rich for the vintage, intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, lively, detailed, red berries palate, fruity, good length. 89
1988 Camille Giroud Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes
Deep ruby with brick rim and sediments, slightly cloudy. Very earthy and sous bois first, took time to open, then red berries, scented, detailed and layered nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins starting to polish off but still there. Red berries, fruity, fresh red currants and strawberries, anise touch, long. 94
1969 Philippe Mestre Santenay 1er Cru Gravieres
Cloudy red with brick rim. Red berries, cherries and leather, sous bois. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, yes they're still there, drying and leaner, impressive for Santenay especially for that age. 87
1989 Château Gruaud Larose
Ruby with garnet rim. Scented, cassis, leather, cool note for the vintage, anise and red berries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, cassis, letaher, slightly tustic for the vintage, I'm more charmed by it than some fellow tasters, detailed and long. 94
1982 Château Lynch Bages
Tuby, garnet tim, fill about 8mm below cork. Intense, sweetfruits, rich nose, scented, detailed, red berries, cassis, leather, tobacco notes, floral, seductive nose, layered. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity and intense, youthful for the vintage, ripe but still fairly cool fruit, detailed, nuanced, very long indeed. 96
1995 Grans-Fassian Riesling Eiswein
Amber with golden hue. Apples, raisins, fruity nose, detailed, intense. Fresh acidity, lively and delicate, playful, intensely mouthwatering. Maturing even if youthful, rarely lively, long. 93
2005 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, minerals, spicy and exotix notes, fresh and detailed nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, lively, elegant, quite rounded texture, detailed, apples, youthful still, long. 94
2001 Château Suduiraut
Golden. Tropical, vanilla, fruity, detailed, layered, complex, apricots, layered. Stunning nose, mindblowing. Fresh acidity, lively and fruity, detailed, layered and complex, superb, refresshing, stunning wine yet again. Incredible length. 98
