Four from Bourgneuf


2010 Château Bourgneuf
90M 10CF Deepish ruby. Dark fruits, some scented notes, blueberries, chocolate, quite intense nose, almost some minerals beneath. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, dark berries and dark chocolate, long. Somewhat warm finish. 90

2009 Château Bourgneuf
90M 10CF Deep ruby. Lots of wood and spices on the nose, dark fruits, light chocolate nose, difficult stage now. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, juicy, ripe, dark berries, blueberries, touch of minerals beneath, fairly firm texture, long. 92

2005 Château Bourgneuf
90M 10CF ruby. Dark fruits, some earthy notes, coffee and a hint of vanilla, touch of liquorice. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity palate, rounded, quite elegant even if the host is a little unsure if the bottle is 100 percent perfect. Some starting prune notes in the back, good length. But then it deteriorates with more air, getting flatter and shorter by the minute.

2005 Château Bourgneuf
Ruby. Dark fruits, some scented notes, light floral touch, chocolate nose, quite intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, dark berries, quite elegant and lovely balance, juicy finish, some mulberries, long. 92
