2010 Château Cantenac Brown
Ruby. Dark berries, blackberries, cassis, light floral note and some herbs far back, vanilla with more air. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, ripe, fresh, detailed, firm but also tannic and edgy, needs at least ten years in the cellar, long. 94

Ruby. Ripe, rich, dark and red fruits, intense, some alcohol high notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, ripe, rounded, sweet and fruity, somewhat hollow mid palate, vanilla and toast, alcoholic finish. 90

Ruby. Red berries, light floral note, cassis, vanilla, fairly detailed nose. Charming. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, structured, some woody notes and spices up front mid palate, long. 90

Ruby. Cassis, red berries, light scented note, some vanilla and spices. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity if leaner, fairly detailed, good length. 88

Ruby. Cassis, leather, mint, light figs, starting cedar and scented. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, some figs and prunes starting, starting to smooth even if structured finish still, long if somewhat woody still. 90

Ruby, garnet rim. Cassis, leather, some hung meat, scented, detailed, light floral note, some mint. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, cassis and blueberries, I say rounded but its also quite structured, but it manages to pack it inn. Long. 95

Lower neck fill. Ruby, garnet rim. Cassis, leather, cedar, some rubber, mint and some floral notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner, firm, some cassis, somewhat dry, has some freshness and vigour but lacks some nuances and details. 91

1989 Château Léoville Barton
Ruby, garnet rim. Cassis, leather, light floral note, some tea, layered and deeper. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, cassis, structured, some vanilla, cedar, wood polish, long if somewhat edgy finish. 92

Decanted for six hours, still tight. Ruby. Red berries, cassis, cool fruits, vanilla, highly scented, cool fruits, layered but tight. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, lively, detailed, nuanced, fresh, tight but layers behind, refreshing, extremely long, will it ever come around? 98
