Pale lemon yellow. Apples, lemons, gooseberries notes, minerals, nuanced nose, with air some grapefruits. Touch of candied lemons. Fresh acidity, fruity, apples, fresh, lemons, apples, grapefruits, not quite as high acidity as I would expect, long. Slightly smoky finish. 93

2006 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino
Ruby. Rich, ripe, dark berries, spices, cherries, cassis, spicesa nd eucalyptus nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rich, intense, some alcohol, tight, edgy texture, raw and ungainly. Difficult to taste now. Bit all over the place. 92

2007 Pousse d'Or Corton Clos du Roi
Bright ruby. Scented, redcurrants and wild strawberries, light floral notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, lively, bit lean, long. 93

2008 Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchere
Towards lemon yellow. Apples, minerals, intense, some barrel notes, some spices, smoky notes. Fresh acidity, fruity, rich, intense,d etailed, nuanced, playful, lively, nuanced, concentrated, detailed, layered, very long indeed. 95

Ruby, brick rim. Tobacco, leaner nose, touch of iodine, leather, intense nose, the iodine part dissapears with more air. Cassis, light minerals and salty note almost. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, leaner texture, quite intense fruit, minerals, again almost salty, delicate, nuanced. Long. 95

1999 Salon
Towards lemon yellow, tiny bubbles. Apples, light butter touch, light apples, brioche and lemons, everything very, delicate and nuanced on the nose. Fresh acidity, elegant mousse, leaner fruit and texture, apples, pears, slight nutty note, minerals and brioche, fairly linear. Long. 96

2004 Hudelot-Noellat Romanée Saint-Vivant
Bright ruby. Stupendously sexy nose, flirting, layered, nuanced, bright red fruits, flirting, floral, tobacco, minerals, seductive as few. Fresh acidity, red berries, spices, somewhat tight and structured, bright, red berries, raspberries, bright and playful, long. 95

2006 Lupicaia
Deepish ruby. Cassis, some vanilla and spices, quite rich nose, blueberries, light floral note. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, somewhat hollow mid palate, structured, cassis and starting leather, long. 93

2011 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port
Almost black. Rich, fruity, juicy nose, black- and blueberries, some anise. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rich, fruity, sweet, beautiful balance, layered, deep, pure, very long. 97

Pale lemon yellow. Some lemons, grapefruits, minerals, light smoky note, orange blossoms, detailed and fresh. Fresh acidity, lively, fresh, nuanced, playful, detailed, minerals and flinty, quite smoky finish, long. 95

2009 Louis Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières
Lemon yellow. Starting out with lilies, and som almost raw smoky notes like burning wet wood. Not fully together on the palate. When it gets together after an hour in decanter, apples, minerals, flinty, lemons, quite rich nose. Fresh acidity, never that up front and lively, rich, intense, detailed, quite massive, slightly warm finish. 94

Ruby, garnet rim. Flirting, some plums, scented, dark berries, floral notes, quite intense nose, seductive. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded, smooth, fresh, cassis and blueberries, nuanced and long. 94

Deepish ruby. Mint, some eucalyptus, cassis, blueberries, leather, almost a touch salty, vanilla, intense nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe, rich, intense, some spices, blueberries, black- and blueberries finish, very long indeed. Lots of concentration. 96-97

Towards ruby. Rich, exotic, fruity, redberries, raspberries far back, scented, floral, layers of fruit, somewhat tight nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rich, intense, slight sweet and sour note, some sous bois, red berries, some darker notes, intense and long. 95

Ruby, garnet rim. Intense, leather, leaps out of the glass, tobacco, cedar, figs, cassis, layered, nuanced, detailed, stunning nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, intense, detailed, layered, nuanced, goes on and on, cassis, plums, figs, prunes, massive tobacco, waves upon waves, keeps on going, leather, almost a slight minty note, superb balance, concentrated yet refined and detailed, exceptional length. 2008 Dönhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Eiswein
Golden. Apples, pears, fruity, fresh, touch of raisins, quite delicate nose. Light minerals. Fresh acidity, bright fruit, an acidity that is beyond everything I've ever had, goes on and on, just pure and bright as daylight, layered and delicate, not that complex but that liveliness is priceless. Long and mouthwatering. 96

1999 Château d'Yquem
Golden. Apricots, rich, intense, some vanilla, grilled apricots, nuanced, layered, pure. Fresh acidity, ripe, intense, fruity, detailed, nuanced, layered, just brilliant and pure, served blind. Gorgeous after taste, very long indeed. 96
