The terroir of Le Montrachet

A unique tasting, a batch of Montrachet from Puligny, and one from the Chassagne side of Le Montrachet. What would be the similarities, and what would be different?

2007 Lucien le Moine, Montrachet (P);
P stands for Puligny, this is the first time Lucien le Moine did make two different Montrachet's, and I do not know if he has made it since. Lemon yellow color, some floral notes, lemon, apples, minerals, very elegant. Medium + body, fresh acidity, intense fruit, beautiful balance, very long finish. Wait ten years. 96

2007 Lucien le Moine, Montrachet (C);
C stands for Chassagne. Lemon yellow, leaps out of the glass, extreme minerality, beautiful citrus and apples, some honey and yellow plums behind. Fantastic balance, high and lively acidity, very complex, extremely long finish. 97

One wins you over on pure elegance (P) and the other on power (C). A triet side by side, if you can ever find them both!
