Leroy Meursault Charmes, M. Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux, Rion Charmes-Chambertin and Clos de la Maréchale blanc
2008 Mugnier Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale blanc:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, citrus, nuts, minerals, had some passion fruits notes that blew away, elegant nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, lively, minerals, fresh, quite elegant, very long. 93
2006 Maison Leroy Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, citrus, minerals, touch of almonds, floral, delicate and nuanced nose. Fresh acidity, elegant, fruity, fresh, quite crisp, refreshing, nuanced, rounded, incredible details, ads and ads, perfect balance, long and detailed citrusy and mineral finish. 95
2005 Patrice Rion Charmes-Chambertin:
Brightish ruby. Scented with air. Took time to open, red berries, spices, some floral notes, very pure and bright nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded, quite elegant, could be more complex, seems to be typical of Charmes, but very clean feel, long. 94
2000 Mongeard-Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux:
Served blind. Ruby, garnet rim. Red berries, scented, intense, nearly leaps out of the glass, floral, spicy, gorgeous nose, layered and seductive. Very fine vanilla, flirting like few. You can smell it for hour. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, delicate, nuanced, lively, served on the cool side, very refreshing, bit lean, some herbal notes in finish, but refreshing and long. 94
