2016 Château Climens

No final blend yet, four samples from the different parts of the vineyard, all showing good concentration and balance together with freshness. This should become one of the more concentrated wines in the vintage from these samples, and one of the stars. But with no final blend we do not know. Depending on the final blend, anywhere from 93-97

Golden. Apricots, fresh, fruity, elegant nose, vanilla, anise touch, bright nose. Fresh acidity, fresh, fruity, pineapples, spices, elegant and nuanced, one of the more concentrated this vintage yet with the usual sublime freshness and elegance. One of the stars of the vintage. Long. 94-96

2016 L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne

Golden. Apricots, pineapples, fruity, vanilla, touch of grapefruits, faint candied citrus notes nose. Fresh acidity, lively, playful, apples, minerals, detailed, playful, refreshing, superb balance, touch of black tea and bergamot, absolute beauty. Wine of the vintage in Sauternes, but very limited production as always. 95-97

2016 Château de Rayne Vigneau

Golden. Apricots, some vanilla, very tight now, difficult to taste. Fresh acidity, fresh and fruity, elegant but unusually tight. This will hopefully reach higher, hope to get a chance to retaste it in my June trip to Bordeaux. For now 89-91
