What happened in 2018? Part 2

April went crazy, wow what a month! Starting in Bordeaux where 2017 delivered above expectations. And then it was all the mature bottles, and we all know, those are what we love to share and have fun with.

Oh, how did this one get in here?
..and this?

1928 Domaine de Chevalier, two bottles tasted, one was beautiful, the other was stunning. My best red Domaine de Chevalier to date! I don't have words for that experience...

Also had a lovely 1928 Poujeaux, well, all the below are stars, no need for words really…

Dinner at Figeac, oh wow… Another of the absolute highlights of 2018! Food by the greatest chef in the entire Bordeaux region, Michel Guerard.

Oh yes, we had the 1949... From jeroboam!

Then another first, Languedoc! Staying in Carcassonne, a town I have wanted to go to for years…

Who doesn’t love being taken to wine tastings in an open vintage Rolls-Royce?

Or a graceful Daimler Super V8, one of my dream cars…

And then another first, Rousillon…

Magic lunch outside with older vintages.

And helicopter ride…

And outdoors lunch overlooking the Mediterranean with a Michelin starred chef, how cool is that?

And then another first, middle of Loire and the magic town of Blois.

…where the old royal palace was our office for several days…

…and we had dinner at the royal hunting chateau… Is it normal to have dinner here I asked, No, not really...

…and more chateaux…

Absolutely stunning April! The greatest month ever I think. Wow...

May, not so much. Working my ass off to get the house ready for sale…Even so, some lovely wines at home in April and May as well...
