L'ERMITE

2000 Chapoutier Ermitage Blanc, L'Ermite;
Pale golden, some apricots, minerals, very stony and flinty, a bit heavy, honey, some vanilla, fat and rounded, acidity comes running, minerality gets more and more intence, licquid stone, some floral notes and iodine, huge body, warm alcohol, quite oily. Very long finish. 86

1999 Chapoutier Ermitage Blanc, L'Ermite;
Pale golden, fresh mineral nose, almost oysters, fresh fish, a bit closed first, way leaner and more elegant in it's body, kind of wet stones on the sea front on a rainy day, better balance, less alcoholic touch, but it has not run away unfortunatelly, some sweet yellow fruits stick they're head up between the stones, flint and smoke, very long finish. 91
