Dark ruby. Rich nose, spices, blackberries, cassis, leather and some coffee, starting figs in the back. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rich and rounded, dark berries and spices, some vanilla still, youthful, very long. 93

2002 Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Monts Mains:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, lemons, some nuts, vanilla, butter and a slight toasty note on the nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, crisp feel, fresh and lively, lemony, long finish. 93

Golden. Apples, apricots, fruity nose, minerals. Some floral notes and citrus, fairly detailed nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, rounded, fairly kind palate, verging on boring, good length. 89

1992 Wegeler Geisenheimer Rothenberg Riesling Eiswein:
Cloudy golden with orange hue. Rich, apricots, passion fruits, honey, detailed, rich nose, maybe not that complex. Freshish acidity, fruity, rounded, rich, playful finish, quote lively, lacks complexity but vety lively. 87

2008 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel:
Pale golden. Apples, pears, tight and youthful, minerals, some floral notes on the nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, lively, delicate and detailed, fruity but fairly focused, long if a bit lean. 92

Served blind. Rubyisj with broad orange rim. Rich, nutty, caramel and dark berries or rather dried dark fruits nose. Alcohol. Fresh acidity, bit lean palate, fruity, rounded, bit alcoholic finish, good length. 86

Ruby, garnet rim. Dusty, leather, slight iodine, some scented notes and søight floral notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, some prunes, plums, not too complex but lovely even so, long. 90

1999 Dal Forno Romano Valpolicella:
Dark ruby. Some herbs, liquorice, scented, cherries, chocolate, pine, different nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded body, not too much going on, liquorice and pine, leanish and a bit dry. Mint. 89

1990 Château Lynch Bages:
Served blind. Dark ruby. Intense, cassis, leather, scented, slight violets note, quite flirting. Finally superb nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded but textured, youthful, long and quite detailed finish. I'm guessing 89 Lynch Bages. 95

1989 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra:
Served blind. Dark ruby, thin garnet rim, lots of sediments. Liquourice, cassis, prunes and figs. Freshish acidity, ripe tannins, tight and tannic palate. Bit dry, edgy finish, alcohol. Big and rich. 89

1996 Château Mouton Rothschild:
Served blind. Deep ruby. Cassis, some plums, rich and ripe nose, leather, nuanced, refined, exotic, detailed and nuanced, superb nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded, fruity, tight, refined but too young, amazing details yet again, a few years since ladt bottle, give it another ten plus years, very long. I nailed the producer, missed vintage by four years. 96

1986 Château Cheval Blanc:
Served blind. Ruby, very thin brick rim. Dark berries, detailed, exotic, floral, nuanced, refined, blueberries, plums, vanilla and mint touch, touch of bell peppers. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, lovely balance, refreshing, lively and fruity, again detailed, very long. I guessed 95 Cheval Blanc. 96

2000 Antinori Solaia:
Served blind. Deep ruby. Rich. Massive, alcoholic, ripe, sweet. Vulgar nose. Freshish acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, leaner palate than nose, rich, bit warm, not fully balanced. 86

1966 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron:
Danish bottling. Very top shoulder fill, moist earthy smelling cork. Dark ruby with brick rim. Earthy, wood polish nose, figs and dades, leather with more air, bit rough nose. Fresh acidity, lean first but ads and ads, almost sweet. 90

1947 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron:
Schröder & Schyler bottle. Top shoulder fill, ruby with brick rim. Some red berries, liquorice, iodine, very mature nose. Leather and nuanced, detailed. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, somewhat fresher palate, bit lean but some figs and prunes, lean but quite focused, long, some iodine finish. You feel a touch the warmth of the vintage. 92

Ruby, garnet rim, bit cloudy. Vanilla, spices, waffles nose. Freshish acidity, ripe tannins, rounded, easy going, bit lean finish. Iodine. Faulty storage, at least bad bottle. 85

1975 Château Léoville Las Cases:
Ruby, garnet rim. Bit tired nose, drying. Tired. By far the worst bottle I've had of this.

1999 Roumier Ruchottes-Chambertin
Bright ruby. Flirting nose, red berries, delicate, nuanced, floral, scented, lovely nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner palate, slightly tight, some herbal notes, vanilla, dies off a bit in finish. 92

1982 Mommessin Clos de Tart:
Bright ruby, broad brick rim. Dusty, earthy, sous bois and figs. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sweeter and rounder palate, liquorice and dades, dies off a bit, leaner finish. Dies off quickly. 85 at best

1973 Patriarche Corton
Slightly cloudy ruby, brick rim. Anise, liquorice, sous bois, earthy, some dades nose. Fresh acidity, ripe and few tannins, mellow and rounded, elegant texture but not that complex. 88 at very best

1986 Pol Roger Brut Chardonnay:
Pale golden, small bubbles. Brioche, oxidized apples, some vanilla, subdued minerals nose. Fresh acidity, rounded mousse, maturing, starting to let go of the freshness, very rounded, kind palate, good length. 89

1982 Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale:
Towards golden, tiny bubbles. Oxidized apples, minerals, toast, coffee touch, some nuts. Fresh acidity, nuanced mousse but dies off a bit, rounded, quite rich, but also leaner, slightly edgy finish, yeasty, long. 90

1998 Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet:
Golden with orange hue. Nuts, caramel and oxidized nose. Tired.

1995 Hospice de Beaune Chartron & Trebuche Meursault 1er Cru Charmes Cuvée de Bahèzre de Lanlay:
Golden. Apples, minerals, bit easy going nose, some oxidative notes and honey touch. Freshish acidity, rounded, flinty, minerals, richer, good length. 87

Pale amber. Rich, nutty, intense, ripe, fruit, raisins, smells sweet. Freshish acidity, rounded, lacks nuances and details on the palate, a bit obvious and straight forwards, sugary, far better nose. 85

2002 Trapet Latricieres-Chambertin:
Ruby. Red berries, scented, slight sous bois, delicate and nuanced nose, detailed, quite fruity nose, quite intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, some vanilla notes, ever so slightly herbal before longer and fruity finish, delicate, fairly rich Burgundy, long. 93

1996 Brovia Barolo:
Ruby, brick rim. Tar and roses, fruity, scented, anise and cherries nose. Fresh acidity, high of ripe tannins, anise, fruity, lots of liquorice, but a bit short. Leathery. 90

1986 Château La Tour Haut-Brion:
Ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, leather, anise, cedar, floral, cassis, detailed, some minerals, lovely nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, lots of liquorice, fresh, figs, red berries, some plums, detailed, rounded, superb and long. 95

1985 Château Trotanoy:
Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, detailed, flirting, minerals, graphite even, nuanced, blueberries, tobacco, gorgeous nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, bit tight and somewhat lean, but refreshing and lively, long. 94

2005 Nikolaihof Steiner Hund Riesling Reserve:
Straw yellow. Some apples, yellow fruity and some slight floral nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, rounded, more rounded than a bottle a month back, fairly lively, could be more nuanced. 89

2009 Ramonet Bourgogne Blanc:
Pale lemon yellow. Apples, some minerals, citrus, slightly flinty nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, rounded, ripe, some yellow plums, good length. 86

1985 Comte Lafon Meursault Clos de la Barre:
Pale golden. Lots of smoke and vanilla, seems to be a lot of barrels. Behind a lot of nuances, floral and even some tropical notes, flinty. Fresh acidity, fruity, bit ripe, elegant minerality, some sitrus, again that floral touch and slight tropical note. Just a bit short, but lovely. Served blind, I found both Meursault and Lafon but missed the vintage by fifteen years, I was on 2000. 93

2000 Vajra Barolo Albe:
Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Tar, some roses, slightly balsamic, fruity, rich nose, liquorice. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity Barolo, tar and roses palate, more rounded, slightly rich, bit warm finish. 89

2004 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape:
Deep ruby, thin garnet rim. Rich, fruity, plummy, dark berries, liquorice and vanilla. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rich, ripe, plummy, bit alcoholic but not that bad. Served blind, I was on Southern Rhône at least in a collet and more elegant style. 91

(Magnum) Deep ruby. Scented, elegant, nuanced, flirting, gorgeous nose, evolving beautifully, layered and complex. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, elegant, lovely balance, charming and very long. 95

Ruby. Fruity, scented, vanilla and a slight floral note on the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, fairly rich palate, modern, good length. 88

2008 Château d'Issan:
Bright ruby. Scented, elegant, nuanced and lovely nose, flirting. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner body, elegant, quite refreshing, lovely balance, long. 90

2008 Château Giscours:
Ruby. Fruity, cassis, vanilla and anise nose, youthful still. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, lively and elegant, refreshing and long, decant it for an hour or two. 90

Ruby. Scented, blueberries, some vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, clean, fruity palate, good length. 88

Ruby. Scented, red berries, nuanced, anise, spices and elegant nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, nuanced, again more elegant palate than nose, fresh, long. 92

Bright ruby, garnet rim. Scented, figs, leaner and slightly dusty nose. Fresh acidity, leaner than last bottle, fairly nuanced but a bit short. Bottle variations on these. 87

Bright ruby. Orange rim. Figs, leather, blueberries touch, scented nose. Fresh acidity, few tannins. Fresh. Elegant and nuanced, lovely if somewhat less intense bottle, long. 92
