Tasting with the owners of the BIG 5, Margaux

Corinne Mentzelopoulos of Château Margaux still can't believe how beautiful her estate is, and it's hard to disagree. I have lost track of the times I have driven up the drive way of Château Margaux, taking the same pictures over and over, it's such a nice place to be. Some people even feel the need of jumping of pure joy. With the treasures waiting inside, it doesn't actually dampen the spirits.

1996 Château Margaux;
Ruby, seductive nose as always, layers, intense of violets, lillies, cassis and leather, stunning refinement. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, gorgeous texture, flirting, seductive, gorgeous length. 96

1989 Château Margaux;
Ruby, garnet rim. Layered, stunning, floral, violets and something quite impossible to describe. Stunning texture, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb balance, feels youthful and lacks the very ripe feel of the vintage, or it's just perfectly covering it up, superb length.
