Garnet. Anise, tar, rich and intense nose. Leather and tobacco,
ripe morellos. Fresh acidity, high of ripe tannins. Full bodied for
(mostly) Nebbiolo, rich and a bit sweet, fruity, tannic backbone, long
and very anise finish. 93
2001 Vajra Barolo Bricco Delle Viole:
Ruby, garnet rim. Liquorice, tar, ever so slightly floral and
ripe plums. Fresh and high acidity, ripe tannins, lively and fresh with
air, needed and hour to come around. Fruity but also elegant and
balanced for Barolo, drops quickly in the finish to return with a fuller
aftertaste, long. 92
