Five inexpensive Burgundies

2012 Domaine Roch Saint- Véran
Pale lemon yellow. Fresh nose of lemons, apples and some minerals, lighter and not that complex. Fresh acidity, lighter body but fairly intense on the palate, crisp, bit short. 83

2011 Château Léopoldine Ladoix
Pale ruby. Some unripe strawberries, sweaty old t-shirt and netly herbal note, medium intensity nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner palate, not very complex, easy going, bit short. 81

2010 Henri de Villamont Sauvigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru Clos de Guettes
Pale ruby. Some red berries and ever so slightly floral nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded and soft textured, fairly fruity and fresh. 86

2011 Domaine de la Buissière Santenay 1er Cru Clos des Mouches
Ruby. Red berries, slightly spicy and floral nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, fairly rounded, slightly leaner and somewhat herbal finish, ever so slightly unripe rather than rustic. 86

2012 Drouhin Saint-Véran
Towards lemon yellow. Floral, citrusy and lemons nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, rounded, fairly fresh, bit easy going but refreshing finish. 81
