05 Molitor, 08 Branaire-Ducru and 96 Clos du Marquis
2005 Markus Molitor Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Auslese** Feinherb Edition 4
Towards lemon yellow. Apples, orange flowers, bit exotix and fuller nose, more subdued minerals beneath on the nose, very slight petroleum note lurking far back. Fresh acidity, fuller and rounded palate and body, fresh and lively, long. 92
2008 Château Branaire-Ducru
Ruby. Leaner cassis and some vanilla nose, starting leather. Lacks the fragrant "opulence" it used to have. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant and fresh, flirting, still seductive palate, still a favourite Branaire. 91
1996 Clos du Marquis
Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, plums, anise, evolving nose, cassis and figs, bit more youthful than last bottle a year back or so. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh and detailed, lively and elegant, really lovely, less evolved all over than last bottle, more together. Long. 93
