1979 and 1959 Mosel

1979 Dr Pauly Bergweiler Graacher Abstberg Riesling Spätlese;
Directly from producers cellar, pale golden yellow, soaked cork, mature, some petroleum, grapefruit, sweet and ripe lemon, some honey, yellow apples and sweet pears. Nice sweet fruit and great acidity packing away the sugar nicely, fresh and quite youthfull still, perfect balance, nice complexity, like silk. Long finish. 89


1959er Albert Gessinger Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Feine Auslese;
Light gold, dusty, cellar, hints of diesel, some artificial fruits, some ripe pears behind and some windfall? fruits (fruits like apples lying in the grass in autumn). Dry, some nuts, tea, hints of chocolate and coffe with dried apples, and yellow plum stones. Nice acidity, long length. 86

1998 Gruaud Larose

1998 Chateau Gruaud Larose;
Ruby with ruby rim, blackcurrants, leather, coffe and herbs, fresh and youthfull, nice acidity, mature and quite intense aromas, ripe tannins, hints of bell peppers and blackcurrant leaves, will age for a number of years still, give it time. Nice finish. 85

Echezeaux and Clos de Vougeot

2006 Jayer-Gilles Echezeaux;
Ruby with pink rim, beautifull slightly perfumed nose, strawberries, hints of leather, slightly floral and rose hip. Nice fruit and acidity, elegant body, pure youth, slightly floral, wild strawberries, long fresh finish. 87


2000 Meo Camuzet Clos de Vougeot;
Pale ruby, fantastically fresh and pure nose, wild strawberries, some spices, hints of barrel, herbs and floral, complex and youthfull. Nice acidity, pure fruit, intens and complex but still elegant at the same time, long finish. 91


2000 Domaine Leroy Clos de Vougeot;
Ruby with ligth ruby rim, wild strawberries, spices, more compact and somewhat more complex than the Meo, hints og barrel and minerals, some floral notes and slightly perfumed. Great intense mouthfeel and such elegance still, very complex with a absolutely fantastic aftertaste, great finish. 95

1961 Chateau d'Yquem

1961 Chateau d'Yquem;
Good fill, B level, cork almost soaked, amber colour, beautifull fresh and clean nose, raisins, minerals, apricots, pineaple, slightly oxidized, some orange and lightly floral. Elegent body, nice acidity, a bit hollow, but fresh fruit, dates, a bit simple but a very good wine and better than most reviews. Nice finish. 83

2 Pavillon Blancs

1995 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux;
Pale golden yellow, slightly vulgar nose, intense of nuts and minerals, hints of oxidated and over ripe apples, slightly perfumed, very complex. Nice acidity, a bit big and lumpy, but I do not think it has found itself yet, needs more time, long fantastic finish. Wait. 90?


1989 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux;
Pale Golden yellow, light mineral tone, elegant nose, fresh rainy day, some lemon peal and pear. Great acidity, nuts, even this is still young and fresh, clean fruit and minerals are playing, elegant and balanced, much more together than the 95, but even this is only starting with secondary aromas. Long and elegant finish, keep even this one if in perfect condition. Fantastic pureness. 92

2x Montrachet

2002 Etienne Sauzet, Montrachet;
Pale golden yellow, fantastic fresh youthfull nose, slightly tropical fruit, beautifull elegant minerality, hint of perfume and floral with hints of flint, toast and barrel. Great freshness, lovely acidity and minerals, the acidity plays in the mouth, some nut shells, orange peal and slightly dry finish. One of the most nuanced Montrachet's I have tasted. 96


2004 Jacques Prieur, Montrachet;
Almost golden yellow, ligth frutiness and some tropical fruits, nuts and minerals behind a big, fat body with butter toast and barrel. Great in the mouth, fullness, crisp acidity to balance the body, extremely long and complex more than nuanced, great intensity, amazing wine. 95

Gaja and Raveneau

1983 Gaja Sori Tildin;
Pale ruby with brick rim. Some dust, hints of roses in the back, tar, liqurice, lacquer, some cherries, mature and secondary aromas. Great fresh acidity, ripe and mature tannins, intens fruit, sweet cherries, leather, light body, long, fresh and complex. 91


1993 Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot;
Pale golden yellow, youtfull and clean, fresh, extremely mineral, like fresh seaside and washed up kelp, violets, butter, very complex and elegant. Beautifull acidity, some nuts, oak leafs, oysters, crushed mussels on the rocks, exceptional finish. Maybe the best Chablis I have tasted. 94

1961 Las Cases and Cheval- Blanc

1961 Chateau Leoville Las Cases;
Light ruby with brick rim, fill to top shoulders (B). Surprisingly youthfull, some herbs, blackcurrants, perfumed, some chocolate, intence, and needs a lot of breathing to really open, and truly youthfull for a 61. Great and clean fruit, fresh acidity, gentle, stylish Bordeaux, balanced and nuanced, ripe tannins, very complex but gentle, an awesome combination. Needed time and had not yet opened fully when the glass was emtied. Has life ahead still. 95


1961 Chateau Cheval- Blanc;
Bottled by Kjær & Sommerfeldt, Copenhagen. Opaque, brick rim. Intens nose of mocca, chocolate, red plums, dried fruits, almost like mature Colheita Port, some dust and forest floor, fantastic intensity and complexity. Intens mouthfeel, fantastic acidity which is almost packed into the fruit, fantastic long finish, coctail berries and dark chocolate, lasts for minutes. Really powerfull wine. 98

1945 Chateau Ausone

1945 Chateau Ausone;
Expedite en Barrique, Bordeaux by Eschenauer & Co. Fill top shoulders (B), cork soaked and shattered to pices while opening the bottle. Ruby colour, thin brick rim. Mature nose, some truffles, cedar, leather, liquorice, wood polish and mahogany, more and more intence with air, develops into an almost massively intence nose of black tea, blackcurrants leather and cedar. Complex yet fragile. Great acidity, some tannins still, and ripe ones, unbelievable fruit, cherry stones, mature and still youthfull freshness, great balance, complexity and elegance, fantastic long finish with fresh berries, lasts for minutes in its own carefull way. Mindblowing wine in it's brilliant combination of power, finesse and transparancy. 96

Lynch Bages and Chateau Margaux

2003 Chateau Lynch-Bages;
Ruby with ruby rim, slightly perfumed nose, hints of roses, lavendel, red ripe berries and sweetish fruit. Ok acidity for a 03, ripe tannins, some herbs, loads of ripe red plums and sweet fruit. Ok finish, not a typical Pauillac, easy drinking, but not great. 76


1985 Chateau Lynch-Bages;
Ruby with ruby rim, fantastic nose, starting with secundary aromas, but only hints, cedar, leather, blackcurrants, cigar, cassis, hints of vanilla, intens and complex. Nice and fresh acidity, elegant and balanced, ripe tannins, almost unbelievable clean fruit, some stone fruits and fantastic long finish. A classic. 95


1984 Chateau Margaux;
Ruby with brick rim, lots of sediment. Light nose, some cigar, hints of coffe and minerality, slightly volatile. Nice acidity, some tannins, nice fruit with some leather and stone fruits. Dries in the aftertaste, quite tired, and dies afterone hour in the bottle. 62 (Uncertain storage, could have been kept too warm)

2 Barolos, one old and one young.

1964 Marchesi di Barolo Barolo;
Ruby with orange rim, good fill. Liquorice, chocolate, hints of cherries, elegant nose after 15 min in decanter, tar, leather, roses, perfume, hung meat and dried fruits. Beautifull acidity, very fresh and cleaning, some herbs, a bit leaner but very fresh finish. 88


2005 Ghemma Barolo;
Ruby, garnet rim, perfumed, slightly like cheap sope, slightly floral and artificial rose scents. Nice acidity, some tannins, nice fruit, more typical in the mouth, but a bit boring and short finish. 72

All over the place.




1997 Domaine Ostertag Grand Cru Muenchberg Riesling;
Pale golden yellow, mature, hints of petroleum, some pear, slightly oxsidized and yellow plums. Lacks acidity and freshness, ripe fruit, slightly sweet, and a bit boring. 68


1998 Pieropan Soave Classico La Rocca;
Golden yellow, hints of vanilla, beautifully mineral, slim and elegant, yet complex nose, a bit closed, some honney and melon. Soft attack, and then yellow plums, beautifull minerality, great balance and complexity, very elegant and a long finish. 89


1999 M.Sorell Hermitage Blanc;
Golden, minerals, heavy fruit, some nutshells, hints of butter, slightly oxidized, hints of barrel and toast and vanilla. The acidity is more powerfull than at first glimpse, great minerality, wallnuts, quite intens and incredible long mineral finish. 87 (Maybe even a bit better than that....)


1983 Chateau Leoville Las Casses;
Faboulous ruby with garnet rim. Decanted two weeks ago, then locked in a screw caped bottle for 2 weeks. Hints og bell peppers, herbs, coffe and mocca, then some cigars, perfume and liqurice, quite seductive. Elegant mouthfeel, great balance and beautifull fresh acidity to go with the fruit, mature tannins and long complex finish. 92

Two great disapointments

Trying the next two legendary wines was a great disapointment......I have never tasted such wines from any of these wineries.

2003 Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos;
Pale gold colour, very closed, some lime, apples, minerals, citrus, nuts, vanilla, butter and apples rotting in the garden. Lacks freshness and acidity, great minerality and beach leaves, very long mineral driven finish, but the lack of acidity pulls the whole wine apart. 9?


2004 Antinori Tignanello;
Deep ruby with garnet rim, some mocca, vanilla, dried fruits, slightly cooked, massive nose. Ok acidity, unripe green tannins, big fruit, like a ball in the mouth, and those astringent tannins, and an unballanced aftertaste. 85


2002 Damilano Barolo Lecinquevigne;
Deep ruby, pinkish rim, Very intens nose of tar, some roses, dust, cherries and blackberries and hints of liquorice. Medium bodied, high acidity but hard to notice with those astringent tannins, a little bit hollow on the palate and a ripe cherry fruity aftertaste.85

Tasting notes

2004 Chateau Puech-Haut Saint Drezery Coteaux du Languedoc;
Ruby with pink rim, nice bouquet of mocca and dark berries, clean frutines but not jammy. Fresh with ripe tannins, good acidity, nice fruit intesnity, and a long finish. Cellar it another few years. 84


2005 Domaine de la Solitude;
Ruby, clean and elegant nose, some fruit, vanilla, blackcurrants, not very complex, but lovable. Nice acidity, mature tannins, clean fruitines, som liquorice and plums, with ok finish. 75


2004 Daniel Vollenweider Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Spätlese;
Light straw yellow, clean apple and lemon with some minerals, nice mature fruit, no petroleum, hints of tropical and honny. Nice packed in acidity, elegantly balanced, fresh and fruit driven, good length. 84


1998 Chateau Poujeaux;
Ruby with thin garnet rim, seductive nose of liquorice, leather and some dried fruits, cassis and tobacco and behind it all, cedarwood. Elegant fruit, nice acidity and ripe tannins, a little dry towards the finish and long length. 84

Tasting notes Bordeaux

2005 Connetable de Talbot;
Pale gold, mature on the nose, gasoline, ok fruit intensity, some aple peal and citrus and orange peel. Ok acidity and balance, a little simple, but very nice aftertaste. 82


1997 Chateau Margaux;
Ruby with garnet rim, slightly pink at the edge. Fantastic complex nose, truffles, leather, cigar, anis, red berries, morellos som florality and starting secondary aromas. A litle lean body but nice intensity, great balance, medium length and mature tannins and nice acidity. 90


1964 Chateau Climens;
Gold with orange tones, hints of botrytis and some minerals and some herbal notes. Medium body and sweetnes, quite elegant, fresh acidity, a little bit short finish. Gains complexity with air, gets more honey and citrus with pineaple, and quite a long length. This wine was discussed and dissagreed upon bu the tasters, some did not approve, for me it was a 88.

1999 Priure Roche Nuits St Georges Clos des Corvees Monopole;
Ruby red with garnet rim, some mushrooms, damp forest floor and leaves, game and starting secondary aromas, some iron and minerality. A bit lean but very precise and clean fruit in the mouth, suprising amount of tannins, a bit dry in the midle part of the palate, very good but lacks a little length, very elegant finish. 86


1997 Biondi-Santi Tenuta Il Greppo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva;
Pale ruby with hints of brick towards the rim. Very young still and exceptional clean style. Some vanilla, cherries, cherry stone, red plums, red berries, some game and leaves, lean in a way, yet very compleks. Ekceptional balance, fantasticly balanced acidity, very long finish, way to young. Give it 20 years. 97


2004 Mathilde et Yves Gangloff Cote-Rotie La Serene Noir;
Very dark ruby, thinn garnet rim. Violets, red fruits, sweet morelloes, vanilla, blackberries, hints of tar and minerals. Very elegant Cote-Rotie, nice acidity, ripe tannins, long finish, at this time a bit onedimentional, but I believe it will develop nicely. 88


2000 Chateau Musar (Magnum)
Ruby red, thin garnet rim. Floral, perfumed, some violets and roses, minerals, tobacco and leather, slight hint of volatility. Very nice acidity, soft tannins, fantastic fresh fruit and body, great balance and the best Musar I have tasted. Great bottle, long fresh aftertaste. 93

SN Napa Valley og en US Syrah

2002 Dunn Howell Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon;
Ruby med rosa kant, intens og kompleks nese, paprika, solbær, lett parfymert, noe roser, masse duft. Intens frukt, nydelig syre, mye og modne tanniner, deilig med solbær, mokka, kaffe, nydelig balanse, svært kompleks, veldig fresh, svært ung enda, lang finish. Elegant. 94


1995 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 10 Years Release;
Ruby med tynn lyst tegl kant, mer moden nese, litt tyngre enn klassisk Bordeaux, men mye av de samme duftene, cassis, sedertre, noe lær, paprika, noe parfymert, samt mokka og kaffe, meget kompleks. Mye syre, mye modne tanniner, moden frukt og sekundæraromaer, tobakk, noe løv, komplekst og balansert, herlig lang finish. 92


1994 Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon;
Ruby med tegl kant, endel bunnfall. Masse kaffe, plommer, tørket frukt, noe lær. Pen syre, veldig utviklet, svisker, løv, lær, nesten bare sekundæraromaer, balansert, fin intensitet og kompleksitet, samt lengde. 86


2005 Joseph Phelps Insignia Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon;
Ruby med lyst ruby kant, intens nese, kaffe, noe floralt, masse rød frukt, vanilje, solbær, snev av lær, meget kompleks. Fantastisk balanse, deilig syre, modne tanniner, herlig frukt, intens og kompleks, lær, flott lengde, dekantert 2 timer. Trenger tid i kjelleren. 94


2006 L'hiver Mendocino County Syrah;
Ruby med lilla kant, stor intens nese, litt krydder og mørke bær, søtlig og noe jammy, kaffe og mokka. Pen syre, ganske fresh frukt, fin balanse, relativt elegant, ikke veldig kompleks, men deilig og lett å like. 78

Smaksnotater forrige uke når nokon verte gamale....

1985 Chapoutier Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne;
Lyst ruby med tegl kant, ganske så velhengt kjøtt, noe røyk, snev av lær, noe jod og metallisk, og høyt over det hele faller høstløvet samt noe sort pepper. Slank kropp og frukt, fin intensitet, deilige mineraler, overmodne kirsebær og kjærnestein med snev av dadler. Flott lang lett søtlig finish. 91


1986 Chateau Lafite Rothschild;
Dyp ruby, syltynn garnet kant, eksepsjonell intensitet, utrolig fresh og ung, lær, cassis, sigar, solbær, med mye lufting, mørke plommer, pent parfymert, tobakk, mer og mer kommer frem.Perfekt balanse, pen syre, intens og mindre floral enn andre Lafiter jeg har smakt, ekstremt ung og intens munnfull for 23 år, fantastisk lang finish, holder 30 år til- 97


1999 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto;
Ruby med garnet kant, intens, noe lær, tobakk, roser og tjære, ren fruktighet, ung nese. Pen syre, modne tanniner, ren og elegant frukt, flott balanse og intensitet, men kunne hatt litt mer kompleksitet for å nå de store høyder. Men deilig vin! 88


2004 Weinbach Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling SDGN;
Lyst sitrongul, rent av epler, melon, honning, aprikoser, ananas, utrolig ren og flott nese. Syren kunne vært høyere (2004 problem?), men utrolig balanse, ren mer enn kompleks, aprikoser, noe honning og ananas går igjen, flott finish. 91

2004 Raveneau Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons;
Dyp strågul, intens duft, mineraler, epler, flint, nøtteskall, røyk. Ung nese. Fantastisk intensitet og balanse, nydelig frukt, utrolig kompleks premier cru, mineraliteten nesten voldsom, meget lang finish. 92


2004 Lucien Le Moine, Montrachet;
Sitrongul, dekantert i 3 timer, stadig lukket, flotte mineraler, lime, sitrus, epler og pære, nøtter, utrolig eleganse. Deilig syre, superb balanse, meget kompleks, syren jobber fantastisk mot mineralene og frukten, suverent lang finish. Trenger mange år enda. 96


1990 Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Echezeaux;
Rent ruby med garnet kant, nydelig kompleks nese, elegant av røde bær, noe jordbunn, lær, krydder, finkværnet hvit pepper, lær og innslag av rosehage, eksepsjonell nese. Middels kropp, men intens frukt, fin syre, litt modne tanniner, eksepsjonell balanse, fantastisk lang finish og utrolig kompleks. 95


2004 Domaine Leroy, Vosne-Romanée;
Ruby med garnet kant, opulent, intens nese, markjordbær, noe jord, lær, elegant og kompleks, ung og fresh. Herlig syre, flott av modne plommer, røde bær, innslag av rips i syren, lang finish, vent. 93

Dyp ruby med tynn garnet kant. Noe mørke bær og lett parfymert. Fin frukt, noe grønt og urter, sjokolade og litt mokka, ren fresh finnish. 86


1999 Chateau Haut-Bailly;
Ruby med lyst ruby kant., noe urter, sjokolade, mokka, mørke bær, lær og lakris. Fresh frukt, fin syre og modne tanniner, herlig balanse, flott og kompleks, lang finish.90


2002 Peyre Rose Clos des Cistes Coteaux du Languedoc;
Lyst ruby, floral nese, roser, lett volatil, litt mørke bær, snev av kaffe og kokesjokolade. Pen syre, fin friskhet, litt Barolofeeling, kamfer, anis, intens lær, ok finish.88


1998 Domaine de Chevalier;
Ruby med garnet kant. Nydelig ren duft, elegant og kompleks, noe solbær, vanilje, lær, søt tobakk og svisker. Pen syre, modne tanniner, flott eleganse og kompleksitet, pen frukt, lang elegant finish. 91

1999 Bollinger Grande Annee (Disgorged July 2007);
Lyst gullgul, fine bobler, litt brødbakst, brødskorpe, noe gips og oksiderte epler. Pen syre, deilig mousse, fin munnfølelse, fresh og ok finish. Ganske kompleks og elegant. 88


2003 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne;
Strågul, lett mineralsk, noe fat, svakt tropisk, noe sitrus. Fin intensitet og kompleksitet, litt grapefrukt, litt slapp finish grunnet manglende syre (årgangen). 83


2007 Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Les Caillerets;
Strågul, meget elegant nese, lett floral, noe lime, mineraler, kompleks, litt vanilje langt bak. Flott balanse, fin syre, elegant og kompleks, nydelig finish. Deilig. 88

Ruby, urter, granskudd, paprika, ok frukt, ikke veldig kompleks. Pen syre, elegante tanniner, noe mineralsk. ok lengde. 78


2002 Lucien Le Moine Bonnes Mares;
Ruby med syltynn rosa kant, fioler, blåbær, noe fat og vanilje, elegant frukt, snev av kaffe og mokka. Flott syre, mye og modne tanniner, pen frukt og elegant litt kort finish. Relativt kompleks. 88


1996 Chateau Haut-Brion;
Ruby med ruby kant, fantastisk nese, utrolig kompleks, snev av fat, mest solbær, lær, floral og parfymert, svakt krydret. Utrolig nese. Fantastisk frukt, nydelig syre, herlig modne tanniner, utrolig frukt og lengde. Fantastisk vin, kompleks, elegant og herlig, ettersmak i minutter. 95

Rent ruby, solbær, solbærblad, utrolig ung, ren og fresh duft. Pen syre, tanniner, lett grønt stilkpreg, ren frukt og fin intensitet. Mangler litt kompleksitet, men du verden for en 3djevin! 90


1995 Chateau Poujeaux;
Rent ruby, elegant ren fruktig nese, noe lær, solbær, litt urter. Pen syre, intense men modne tanniner, elegant frukt, pen intensitet, trenger tid, fin finish. 85


1999 Chateau Smith Haut Lafite;
Ruby med syltynn rødrosa kant. Ren elegant frukt, noe jordbær, lær, elegant nese, nesten Pinot, noe jord. Fresh syre, modne nesten fraværende tanniner, litt ustrukturert og stor i frukten for Bordeaux, men en god munnfull. 88


2005 Chateau Picque Caillou (Pessac);
Ruby, ok frukt, litt krydder og røde bær, snev av te, aromatisk. Slank kropp, ok syre, litt grønne tanniner, tett frukt og grei lengde. 72

2005 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese;
Lyst strågul, litt lime, appelsinskall, epler, lukket, noe mineraler langt bak. Mineralsk i munn, flott frukt, elegant og balansert, rund lett søtlig, savner litt syre og trenger flere år i kjelleren. 86


1982 Salon;
Gullgul, ørsmå bobler, vakker farge. Vanvittig nese, intens og kompleks, nydelig av oksiderte epler, mineraler, flint, bakst, gjær og lett brent brødskorpe. Flott mousse, elegant foam, eksepsjonelt kompleks og sart samtidig, lag på lag og bølge etter bølge med smaker, noe gjær enda. Suverent, nærmest perfeksjon. 97


2006 Lucien Le Moine Meursault 1cru Genevrieres;
Strågul, intens av flint og mineraler, noe sitrus, noe fat, epler. Elegant syre, flott balanse, elegant og intens, gi den ett år eller to til for fatet, lang finish, mineralene er tydelige. 88


2007 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Kabinett;
Lyst strågul, fantastisk ren nese, epler, mineraler, purung, tropisk, noe plommer og ananas. Utrolig elegant, flott balanse, syren er deilig innpakket, svært ren og elegant, litt kort finish, men strålende kabinett. 85

Kveld med Thomas og Magne

1964 Heidsieck & Co Monopole, Reserved for England;

Gullgul, fantastiske bobler. Mineraler, noe oksiderte epler, overraskende ung nese. Utrolig elegant og balansert, nydelig mousse, flott friskhet, ganske slank.(Årgangstypisk?). Flott finish. Spiller veldig på balanse og eleganse. 91

Flaske 270 av 1210. Lyst gullgul, eksepsjonell nese, nøtter, mineraler, epler, pære, bålrøyk og noe vanilje, flint. Intens og utrolig kompleks. Pen syre, stor fylde og konsentrasjon. Elegant og stor på samme tid. Ekstrem finish, sitter i minutter. 93
