1997 Chateau Romer du Hayot;
Golden, intence, thick botrytis, honney and apricots with some canned fruits. Very visquos, some bitter tones, should have more acidity, a bit smokey aftertaste, very good, but could be much more, lacks that little bit to be up there. Good finish, but should be a bit fresher. 85
2000 Chateau Suduiraut;
Golden, mild at first, then more complex and aromatic with air, botrytis, apricots, fresh, some spices, hints of vanilla, then pineapples. Elegant and not the biggest body, great acidity on the tongue, playfull. More and more complex with air, overripe grapes, then some minerals, then raspberries, very elegant and long finish, but you need to look after the flavours, they don't come rushing to tell their secrets. 92
I wish it was July, the last one would be perfect with strawberries for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
