1990 Drouhin Bonnes Mares

1990 Joseph Drouhin Bonnes Mares:
2040 bottles made. Bottle directly from the cellars of Drouhin. Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Gorgeous nose, scented, red berries, floral, nuanced, layered, superb nose. Slightly exotic spicy, mineralsand with air a touch of sous bois, just a touch. Stunning nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, lively, nuanced, elegant, sublime,  a backbone of structure and acidity that carries the flavors, very long finish. I've always had a bit of an issue with Bonnes Mares, finding them a bit rough, maybe lean and edgy. Everyone tells me they need to age, and this is one of if not the oldest I've had, and this is absolutely superb. 95
