Two 2011 Pommard's from Pillot
2011 Pillot Pommard Les Tavannes:
Bright ruby. Smoky notes, red berries, vanilla, barrels a bit in your face. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresher palate where the fruit plays the mayor part, transparent feel for Pommard, bit raw finish. 89
2011 Pillot Pommard 1er Cru Rugiens:
Ruby. Vanilla, toast and spices on the nose, subdued red berries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, oak overshadows all the way, structured, has it got enough fruit to overcome it? 82-90 depending on the fruit.
