(fassprobe) Golden, complex, honney, apricots, botrytis, orange and lemon, very pure. Tremendous acidity, even with this level of sweetness (244 g. rs/ 10,5 Acidity) the acidity makes love with the residual sugar and it's just heaven. So balanced, you almost get tears in your eyes of pure enjoyment and a never ending length. 96-98

1990 Clos Varoilles

Hot Burgundy

2002 Lucien Le Moine, Vosne Romanée, Beaux Mont;
Dark ruby, served blind, this dark fruit and a lot of vanilla aromas did not get any of us to Burgundy at all. Eucalyptus, plums, blacberries, spices, I had a zinfandelish feel, but without the alcohol, blended with a elegant syrah. It was chocking to find out that this was a Vosne...... 84 for the wine, not as a Burgundy.

06 Projectos Riesling

2006 Niepoort Projectos Riesling;
Served blind, this pale lemon yellow wine was a tough nut to crack. Medium minus acidity, some honney and melon, yellow plums, nearly cero riesling aromas, very different from other bottles I've tasted that was very pure and apply, well balanced, long finish, eleagne more than complex. As a riesling, a complete failure...... 60, as a wine, for enjoyment. 84

86 Latour

1986 Château Latour;
Bright ruby, cedar, cigars, blackcurrants, fresh plums, touch of red and darker berries, leather of best type, very elegant, open and showing for a Latour. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, slightly more evolved than Mouton and Lafite, surprisingly elegant. Very complex. There was a discussion later on if the bottle had a tiny bit of cork, or at least some off aromas. Luckily my glass was emptied by then, but I could feel a slight touch after fifteen- twenty minutes in another glass. In my book anyway, it was stellar! 96

98 Mission HB

1998 Château La Mission Haut-Brion;
Ruby, blackcurrants, some floral notes, touch of terracotta, cigars, very elegant, complex and seductive. Beautifull texture, refreshing acidity, elegant, ripe, yet firm tannins, beautifull and youthfull, will evolve gracefully, wait another five to ten years. Very long finish. 95

98 Beaucaillou

1998 Château Ducru Beaucaillou;
Deep ruby, elegant startin cedary and leather touch with blackcurrants and cigars in front. Great texture, ripe tannins and very elegant acidity, pure, refreshing, drinking well even if too young at the moment, keep at least five years before it starts to evolve more. 92

86 Dom. Chevalier

1934 Château La Lagune;
Top shoulder, B/C_C level, rubyish with broad brick rim and almost amber outer rim, soaked and tired cork. Wet wood, rubber, mahogany, coffee touch, motor oil, toffee, anis, caramel, burnt butter. Good texture and structure, fresh acidity, no tannins what so ever, touch of iodine, balanced, palate fresher and younger than nose, quite intense, very mineral finish, almost salty pretzels, touch of prunes far back. 87 Lasted twenty minutes before tiring quickly.

06 Latour

2006 Château Latour;
Bright ruby, closed, some vanilla, touch of cedar, blackcurrants, very elegant, almost perfumed, very clean and elegant fruit, very structured, massive texture with ripe tannins, complex, concentrated, needs 20 years. 94

66 Mondavi

1966 Robert Mondavi, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon;
(Demi!) Soaked cork, C level fill, deep garnet core, brick rim, a bit dull. Blackberries, a bit dusty, hint of coffeebeans, intense. A bit lean body, drying, not too complex, tannins kind of outside, hollow, good length tough. 75

88 Lynch Bages

1988 Château Lynch Bages;
Bright ruby, green paprika, blackcurrants, floral overtones, elegant Pauillac, seductive, some leather, and with more air, prunes. Fresh, slightly vegetal touch, very good acidity, ripe tannins, some herbal notes, very long finish. 89

1972 6 Puttonyos

1972 Oremus, Tokaji 6 Puttonyos;
Amber with golden hue. Caramel, botrytis, very mature, still feels fresh, minerals and almost salty, raisins. Absolutely fantastic balance, very refresing acidity, mouthwatering, almost of sweet grapes, but not cloying, kakes, muscat nuts, very long, but lacks a bit of complexity. 89

96 Yquem

1996 Chateau d'Yquem;
(Demi) Golden big time, lots of vanilla, barrique, marmalade, botrytis, heavy, almost smokey aromas, orange and orange peel, touch of minerals beneath. Big and heavy texture and feel, a bit bitter, ripe, acidity is not quite up there, honney, almost beery finish. 89 (uncertain storage, from Philipson wine, Denmark)

06 Icewine

2006 Jackson-Triggs, Okanagan Estate Riesling Icewine;
Pale golden, slightly flabby somehow on the nose, not too complex, peach and apricots, good acidity, refreshing in the mouth, good length. 82

90 Pajana

1990 Domenico Clerico, Barolo Pajana;
Deep ruby, very thin orange rim, tar, touch of roses, more of truffles, intense tobacco, anis, complex, showing development, but still some woody highnotes. The acidity is so fresh it's mindblowing, with a wall of ripe tannins you barely noice behind the acidity, coffe, but again some oak, truly fantastic fruit, slightly over done with oak. 90
