1986 Château Latour;
Bright ruby, cedar, cigars, blackcurrants, fresh plums, touch of red and darker berries, leather of best type, very elegant, open and showing for a Latour. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, slightly more evolved than Mouton and Lafite, surprisingly elegant. Very complex. There was a discussion later on if the bottle had a tiny bit of cork, or at least some off aromas. Luckily my glass was emptied by then, but I could feel a slight touch after fifteen- twenty minutes in another glass. In my book anyway, it was stellar! 96
