2012 Poggiotondo Chianti Cerro del Masso:
Bright ruby. Red berries, slight herbal note and youthfull rawness to the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, easy, fruity, somewhat lean, good balance. 83
2012 Pelissero Dolcetto d'Alba:
Ruby. Dark berries, fresh and fruity, slight vanilla note on the nose. Fairly fresh acidity, high of ripe tannins, fruity but dies of a bit and leaves a tannic finish. 84
2011 J-L Chave Selection Crozes Hermitage Silène:
Deep ruby. Rich and ripe nose of dark berries. Slight mineral note and some herbs. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, then narrows in on the finish, ever so slightly sour finish. Bit short. 85
2011 Malvira Barbera d'Alba San Michele:
Deepish ruby. Tight nose, closed, dark berries and some vanilla notes in the back. Freshly bottled sample. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity and pure feel, quite lively, needs time to open, bit short. 85

Deepish ruby. Vanilla, fruity, ripe and sweet dark berries nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, fresh backbone, bit orange peal bitterness in the finish, good length. 86
2011 Isole e Olena Chianti Classico:
Ruby. Some cherries, dark berries, coffee and slightly scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity even if leaner body, quite elegant, good lengrh. 87
2008 Talenti Brunello di Montalcino:
Ruby. Scented, pure red berries fruit, delicate and inviting nose, cool feel to it. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, bit lean and doesn't quite live up to the nose, fresh and clean, good length. 88

Ruby. Dark berries, coffee and some spices nose. Freshish acidity, high of ripe tannins, biting and firm, your lips are glued to the teeth, tannic finish. 86

Bright ruby. Scented, detailed, red berries, floral, anise, lovely nose. Fresh acidity, high of ripe tannins, fruity, cherries, anise, cigar touch, slightly warm finish. 90
2008 Aldo Conterno Barolo:
Ruby. Scented, red berries and cherries, liquorice, tar and roses nose, lovely. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing and almost dancing, lively, long finish. 91

Bright ruby. Red berries, vanilla, liquorice and slightly scented nose. Ripe. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sweet fruit, ripe, sweet blueberries finish, bit warm. 89

Bright ruby. Scented, red berries, anise, figs, cherries and letaher notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sweet fruits, ripe morellos, anise, long finish, bit warm and slightly bitter. 90
