  1. 2012 Domaine du Pélican Chardonnay
Overall the wine is bright, pungent, fresh, and reminiscent of white Burgundy, which should be no surprise, given that Pélican is owned by D'Angerville. The wine immediately veers towards the luxurious side of Burgundy without quite reaching it. Other online comments compare the wine to Meursault, but Pélican's chardonnay, while having a dense nose of matchsticks, lime and minerals, lacks that extra layer of flesh you should expect in a really good Meursault or Chassagne. A bit more on the bright Puligny-esque side of the spectrum. Very good, packed with lime and granny smith apple and permeated with an assertive mineral and matchstick pungency with some clever barrel-work suggestions of lees and wood contact. Quite good, more like Burgundy than a typical Jura white, and worth checking out.
