08 Laville HB, 07 La Mission HB and 07 Haut-Brion
2008 Château Laville Haut-Brion:
Only about 6000 bottles made. If I remember correctly, the last vintage before changing the name to La Mission Haut-Brion blanc. Pale lemon yellow. Lemons, grapefruit, minerals, floral, vanilla, intense and layered. Fresh acidity, superb texture, almost creamy with lemon acidity playing and making it fresh and lively. Mouthwatering. Gorgeous wine, superb length. 96
2007 Château La Mission Haut-Brion:
Deep ruby. Vanilla, cassis, layered, fairly intense, spicy, smoky minerals, almost floral. Have come around since last bottle. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, savory and mouthwatering. Superb texture, very refreshing and long. 94
2007 Château Haut-Brion:
Deep ruby. Layered, nuanced, floral and scented, touch of cedar. Very subdued minerals, refined. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, savory, again refreshing and mouthwatering. Superb texture and structure, more seductive than La Mission, refined, lively and very long. 94
