64 Gazin, 90 Calon Segur and two Amoureuses

2008 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc:
Pale golden. Creamy honey and apricots nose, quite intense and fuller than last bottle about a year back. Minerals and green apples notes beneath. Fresh acidity, fruity and lively, refreshing snd more powerfull as well as maybe not transparent, but at least very nuanced. Lively and long. My øast bottle, very elegant. 92

2004 Francois Bertheau Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses:
Cloudy ruby, probably very little filtration. Some plums and figs, scented and almost overtones of roses on the nose. Spicy touch underneath. Fresh acidity, ripe and few tannins, refreshing and an elegant nerve going through it. Fruity for both vintage and Burgundy, long. 92

2007 Patrice Rion Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses:
Bright ruby. Some barrel spices that gives way for pure red berries, scented and floral notes, layered nose. Exotic spices and Christmas cake with air. Always violets and fresh strawberries behind. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing and somewhat leaner palaye, but intense and fruity, gorgeous texture, long finish. 94

1964 Château Gazin:
Top shoulder fill, very good cork confirming label. Ruby with brick rim. Flat at first, some leather and prunes turning up after a few minutes. Touch of violets. Fresh acidity, tannins pollished off, succulent, savory, lovely balance, not that complex, silky texture and quite refreshing, giving little or maybe more than enough, some faint berries stops by for a quick "hello" before they run off into eternity. An old gentleman that is dying off very gently by itself. Perfect bottle, just a bit too old. Would have been marvelous ten or twenty years ago I'm sure. Ads and takes away same amount all the times, but always balance. A remarkable bottle and I'm not sure how to judge it. Probably the only bottle I've ever tasted that is dying off at a perfect balance. I don't know how to rate it, different from anything else. Harmony but where is the complexity?

1990 Château Calon-Ségur:
Deep ruby, garnet rim. Massive nose of dark berries, stable, leather and cigars. A wealth of aromas and intense as few onnthe nose. Violets and subdued floral notes. Fresh acidity, lively and ripe tannins. Gorgeous intensity and freshness, superb if more intense texture, mouthwatering before turning into a very subdued and elegant aftertaste, very long indeed. 95
