Roumier Ruchottes-Chambertin, Boillot Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, Krug, Laville Haut-Brion and more

2003 Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets:

Pale lemon yellow. Started out slightly funky and mushroomy with heavy waxy notes. After thirty minutes, lemons, slight floral touch, minerals and some butter on the nose. Fresh acidity for the vintage, slightly smoky touch, flinty, elegant and lovely balance, slightly narrow finish. 92

2005 Henri Boillot Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet:
Pale lemon yellow. Orange blossoms, minerals, elegant apples and citrus over fine minerals nose. Fresh acidity, lively, elegant and refined palate, supetb freshness even if somewhat subdued under creamy texture, long and elegant finish. 96

1990 Château Laville Haut-Brion:
Golden coulour. Started out very beeswaxy but very elegant minerals on the palate. After an hour opened (not decanted), rich and fat nose, honey, floral, beeswax, some nuts and minerals. Fresh acidity, rich and yellow fruits, creamy texture, a superb mineral backbone all the way under the rich fruit and texture, more focused palate than nose, marsipan, elderflower touch, long finish. 94+

1985 Krug Vintage:
Light golden with some amber tints, tiny bubbles. Oxidized apples, some cinamon, minerals,  freshly baked bread, nuanced, complex and layered nose. Fresh acidity, lively, elegant mousse, superb balance, refreshing and lively, starting to mature, slight bitter touch mid palate, long finish. Most elegant '85 Krug I've had. 96

1988 Drouhin Clos de la Roche:
Pale ruby, broad brick rim. Tight first, sous bois, strawberries, elegant fruit, scented, nuanced, complex and layered nose, gorgeous. Ever so slightly herbal touch. Fresh acidity, few and ripe tannins, lively and elegant, refreshing, superb fruit, layered and nuanced, playful, maturing, long. Served blind, I was on 90 and either Gevrey, Chambolle or Morey. 94+

2008 Christophe Roumier Ruchottes-Chambertin:
Another blind. Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, floral, strawberries, floral, ever so slightly spicy, another gorgeous nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, slight roughness to the texture, but more because of it's youthfullness.   Lively, pure, elegant fruit, long. Lacks a little bit to be refined, at least at first. 94
