85 Mouton, 94 Margaux, 99 de Fargues, 96 Yquem

1985 Château Mouton Rothschild:
Top shoulder fill. Leaps out of the glass. Rich, exotic, fruity, cassis, leather, cigars, layered and complex nose. Cedar and spices, pure graphite minerals. Cinamon touch. Remarkably intense for '85. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sexy, flirting, slightly hollow mid palate, intense attack, fruity and lively, long and elegant cigar box finish. 95

1994 Château Margaux:
Served blind. Ruby, garnet rim. Fruity, youthfull, cassis, slightly floral, a faint herbal touch, spicy, scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, elegant, slightly raw at the moment, a bit young, cassis and slightly herbal finish, a bit tight. 92

1999 Château de Fargues:
Amber gold colour. Nuts, rich, fruity, massive, caramel, a bit overdone on the nose. Fairly fresh acidity, rich, fruity, lacks nuance and balance, intense honey and apricot notes, fresher aftertaste. The day after more together and elegant. 92

1996 Château d'Yquem:
Pale golden. Apricots, vanilla, raisins, tropical fruits, botrytis, floral and a touch of beeswax. Elegant and complex nose. Fresh acidity, fruity, lively, elegant, quite creamy, feels younger than last bottle, nuanced and layered, long. 94
