1995 Krug Vintage;
Almost golden yellow, minerals, leaner than the 96, but not lean, hints of vanilla, still a bit closed, very young. Very energic acidity, beautifull mousse, but gentler, the acidity and minerals playes the first violin now, some toast, yeast and rolls. Some oxidized apples, exceptional wine by any standard, very long finish. 95
1995 Pommery Cuvee Louise;
Light golden yellow, intence minerality, mussels, boiled crab, hint of wet wool socks, and people around the table does not agree if it is slightly corked. Nice acidity, the acidity could be more fun, but it might be the Krug before, the fruit seems very clean and elegant, but the finish is a bit short. I remeber better bottles of this. 88
1995 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame;
Pale golden yellow. English toffee, butter, minerals, oxidized apples, some autumn leaves, intence, mineral and kelp on the cliffs. Nice acidity and mousse, apples, som burnt aromas (toast?), boiled crab again, hints of liquorice and barrel spices. Almost some hints of sherry in the aftertaste. 88
(This bottle was aquired on a ferry about 3 years ago, maybe it is not in perfect condition, but it was very good still)
1995 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires;
Pale golden yellow. Intence aromas, toast, yeast, oxidized aples, burnt bread, and sweeter macaroon. Very elegant mousse, nice acidity, very clean finish. This wine is very young still, put away for a few years. 91
