1986 Henri Jayer Echezeaux;
Ruby with brick rim, mature, some varm radiator dust as when you start one up for the first time in autumn, leather and dried fruits. Nice acidity, no tannins, and very little flavor, and extremely short finish. After 24 hours in an open bottle, hints of sweet fruit behind a still dusty outlook, now also hints of chocolate and mocca. Light acidic body, some thin fruit like watered down strawberries, hangs on the palate for minutes as a scared little soprano high above the acidic body. I hope Thomas Piscitello can tell me what happened the day after. This was a very strange bottle, I have never encountered anything like it........No judgement. Now I hav heard, it died peasefully the next day......My guess, bad storage......did I hear death penalty? Anyone?
