12 red Burgundies tasted from Theis Vine

2003 Domaine Leroy Bourgogne Rouge:
Bright ruby. Slightly cooked strawberries and scented nose. Soft acidity, rounded and elegant, verging on rich. Good length, drink it soon while there is some nerve. 87

2008 L.A.Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis Clos les Sionnieres:
Bright ruby. Strawberries, vanilla and floral notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing body and fruit, elegant, refreshing finish. 88

2009 L.A.Lignier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes:
Bright ruby. Scented, strawberries, floral, nuanced and layered nose. One of those Burgundies you can sit and smell all night. Superb nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, flirting and a beauty. Long. 93

2008 Domaine Dujac Chambolle Musigny:
Bright ruby. Barrel notes hiding strawberries. Fresh acidity, elegant body and fruit on the palate. I have very limited experience with Dujac, and seems that the barrel notes sits more on the nose than palate. Good length. 89

2010 Domaine Dujac Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes:
Bright ruby. Some herbs, strawberries and again those slightly overshadowing barrel notes on the nose. Fresh acidity, mouthwatering even, some unripe strawberries in the long finish. 92

2010 Nicolas Rossignol Pommard:
Pale ruby. Strawberries, plums, figs and scented nose. Incredibly pure and elegant nose for Pommard. No rusticity here. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, soft and fruity texture. 89

2010 Nicolas Rossignol Volnay:
Pale ruby. Strawberries and vanilla nose. Elegant and fresh acidity, quite elegant body but feels overshadowed by oak, unlike the Pommard. 87

2009 Pierre Damoy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot:
Bright ruby. Vanilla and strawberries nose. Elegant palate, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fine fruit but up front barrel notes. 88

2010 Jean Michel Guillon Gevrey-Chambertin Les Crais:
Bright ruby. Vanilla and strawberries, fine fruit driven nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins but oaky palate. 88

2010 Jean Michel Guillon Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrieres:
Bright ruby. Even more barrels, even the nose is overshadowed. Fine acicity, playful feel, violets and scented, I hope it will shed its oakiness. 89 if I'm kind.

1990 Robert Ampeau Blagny 1er Cru La Piece Sous les Bois:
Ruby, orange rim. Figs and leafy nose, lots of earth and almost volatile. Dry and tired palate.

1989 Robert Ampeau Blagny 1er Cru La Piece Sous les Bois:
Even more tired, smells rotten leaf.
