3 less expensive from Bordeaux

2009 Château Carbonnieux rouge:
Deep ruby. Pessac minerals beneath cassis and vanilla. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fine texture and structure, the rescent (years) of less use of new oak make this wine shine ever more often on the reds as well. 90

2009 L'Esprit de Chevalier:
(2nd Dom. de Chevalier) Deep ruby. Rich nose, warm cassis and blueberries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, alcohol shines a bit through even at 13,5%. 86

2008 Château de Fonbel:
Deep ruby. Scented and blueberries. Very elegant nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant texture. Always a winner in this segment from the Vauthier family, owners of Ausone. Very elegant in the 08 vintage. Long finish. 89
