Bordeaux tasting with Moestue 09's, 08's and a 98

2009 Blason d'Issan:
(2nd Ch. d'Issan) Ruby. Bell peppers, cassis and slightly floral. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant palate but a bit one-dimensional. 87

2009 Château Latour Martillac:
Deep ruby. Minerals, cassis, coffee. Intense nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing and quite mouthwatering even if on the somewhat rich side. Long. 91

2009 Château Lafon-Rochet:
Deep ruby. Almost strawberries, cassis and leather. Nuanced nose for LR. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, a bit sweet mid-palate and long finish. 90

2008 Château Branaire Ducru:
Deep ruby. Floral and slightly herbal over cassis and vanilla. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb texture. A bit short. 91

2008 Château Grand Puy Lacoste:
Bright ruby. Cassis, leather and ever so slightly of stable. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, mellow texture, long. 91

1998 Château Langoa Barton:
Ruby. Cassis, refreshing cherries, some floral notes over cassis. Scented. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing and long. With an hour or two in decanter a pleasure now, but can keep another fifteen years or more. 92+
